jonestown is one of the most messed up things I have ever heard/seen. there are somethings I wish we were taught about. even though they are disturbing.

@ianz09 (284), I couldn’t agree more, but in the case of the Jonestown recording, I would rather say, it was a “hard-to-believe recording” than “incredible”.. They are synonymous anyway, but I think that’s the right choice of word..

Can’t believe that Jonestown is categorized as “Incredible Recording” where in fact it should be “Demonic”.. That was worse than a backmasked tape.. The children cried in anguish as theier innocence fought the insanity of their elders and for their lives..

“Incredible” is not the right term for a psycho’s audio captured on tape..
Surely, if we talk about recording as incredible in nature, the Jonestone case is a rotten tomato..

I couldn’t have said it better myself. I only listened to part of the Jonestown recording but it made me feel sick. And to think it wasn’t that long ago.

A note on the castrato- does anyone remember voice actor Walter Tetley? He played numerous young boy characters on radio, such as Leroy on The Great Gildersleeve and Julius on The Phil Harris/Alice Faye Show, but he’s probably best remembered today as Sherman from the “Peabody’s Improbable History” on The Rocky & Bullwinkle Show. For years his boyish voice was attributed to a hormonal disorder, but it was later discovered that his mother had him castrated as a young child to preserve his voice. Fortunately, he turned out to be a reasonably well adjusted person and a highly regarded character actor.
