Just watched Mulholland Drive and instantly loved it. Never seen David Lynch's movie before but I am going to watch all of his films.

A Clockwork Orange is my one of the favourite, so is Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. I am admirer of Charlie Kauffman's writing. And his scripts certainly differ from usual Hollywood flicks. Adaptation and ESOTSM are not weird but really thought provoking.

Mulholland Dr. just reminded me of Indian (Hindi) movie called "No Smoking" by Anurag Kashyap. It's different from bollywood musicals and surrealistic approach to film making. Certainly it's been discarded in India but I am sure real movie lovers would give it a thought.

Just because I've seen a lot of these movies and want to make a list for myself (and hopefully save time for a lot of you). Ill add City of Lost Children, Feed and Abre los Ojos (Open Your Eyes) - Original and better version of Vanilla Sky.

Theres over 200 movies in all the comments, I made a list.

I watched Transformers, the sequel and thought, 'This is a wierd wierd movie...' Why?
The former was abysmal yet this one still got to be made. The director/writers and whoever actually managed to bind in even less depth than the previous. How did they manage that? But whats truly wierd is i, like so many other Half-intelligent people watched it.
Aronofsky, earlier Gilliam stuff and Kubrick movies are thought provoking. David Lynch, is an artist who makes movies - Abstract surreal and dark at times, but capable of creating beauty, The straight Story for example. (RIP Alvin and Richard).
I thought The Seventh Seal was wierd but then, at the time i just didnt get it. Wierd is relative to what youre looking for.

this has GOT to be the weirdest movie i've ever seen. it's got jeff bridges from the big lebowski...it's supposed to be told entirely through a child's point of view. it's called "tideland."

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4pySXc-6GoU&hl=en_US&fs=1&]

and, i agree, leaving "pink flamingos" off of this list was a flagrant mistake.
