I really like this list! The best things I've found in my 'treasure hunts' would be: a perfect fern (some kind of <i>Adiantum</i> sp. I think) fossil in a stone bore core sample, early-ish 20th century NZ coins in my grandmother's backyard, shark's teeth and pearls at the beach, and crappy jewellery in old walls. Oh and once I 'discovered' a bag of polished semi-precious stones in a wardrobe when I was a kid - I wasn't very impressed when Mum told me she already knew they were there (some kind of family heirloom) and that I couldn't claim salvage rights! Oooh shiny things…
