For the 911 one Nostradamus obviously named new York but didn’t actually know what it was going to be called stating it as a ” new city” if you look it up York is an actual place and it is referring to thd u.s breaking off from britan creating the new York. As for the rocks it symbolizes the middle east and the u.s because as we all know it did take a long time to end. And of course the predictions are going to be general he can’t pinpoint all the details because he is from a difffrent time he doesnt know exactly what everything is called or is in ours.

I would like to comment what the author said about quatrain VIII-76 (8. Oliver Cromwell). When Nostradamus speaks of a butcher he indicates one who is responsible for killing people (see the Dictionary of Medieval French (http://www.atilf.fr/dmf/) under “bouchier=butcher” : “Celui qui massacre des êtres humains; bourreau= he who massacres human beings; executioner). Cromwell was accused of butchery for his Irish campaign, having been called “the butcher of Drogheda and Wexford” (look at “Images of Oliver Cromwell: essays for and by Roger Howell, Jr – Page 200”). It could be said that Cromwell was of “obscure rank” if we consider that before him those who had his power in England were of kingly blood.The Catholic Nostradamus could have said that Cromwell was “without (the true) faith” since he was Protestant. He became Lord Protector, governing the British Empire, “through force”, having won the English Civil War (he will bleed the land) and condemned to death King Charles. The last line could be referred to the fact that Cromwell was born 41 years after the quatrain was published (a short period of time compared to the extention of the Prophecies, that is at least 687 years). It must also be remarked that Nostradamus used “Macellin” (butcher) in the first line; a reference to the Roman Emperor Macrinus, called Macellinus for his bloody habits (from Latin “macellum=shambles”). Cromwell and Macrinus were both accused of butchery, they were both military officers of low rank; they both obtained power after they ousted and killed the legitimate Emperor/King.There is also another curiosity: Elizabeth Bourchier was the wife of Cromwell. “Bourchier” is very close to “bouchier” (“butcher” in French). you are right! some people even from the past do have what they self believed as seeing the future.beit whatever future this earth has to faced.history really repeats it’s lyrics…then if songs has always endings then no human could ever resists it.lucky are the people who read all those prophecies and consider it as books of entertainment.coz if everyone takes it seriously,our children will lost their hope for bright tomorrow if our earthly direction is towards doomsday.

What an interesting list. I have watched many shows (mainly from history channel) on old Nostradamus. The link between histor to hitler struck me funny. Maybe it was the presentation of the program but the use of My Histor just sounded crazy and to boot its a RIVER. My Histor ! lol. I also note that every once in awhile you may be to pick up a 89 cent booklet of his phrophecies in the local grocery store at the checkout line .
