Far too often, Erick von Danicken-esque types immediately jump to the conclusion that aliens helped humans.

This also applies to the pyramids, Stonehenge, statues on Easter Island and other feats of accomplishments that are too numerous to name here. Ancient man made these wonderful things for the gods and that being the case, failure or not finishing the job was not an option.
