Correct me if I am wrong, but I have heard about an anecdote regarding The Beatles. They are the only recording act in the history, regardless of the type of music and genre, to have sold in excess of 1 BILLION albums totally in their career up to this date. And today November 29th, 2011 is the 10th anniversary of the death of George Harrison and coming up soon (December the 8th) will mark the 31st anniversary of the assassination of John Lennon.

Though its not in the Top Ten highest selling albums of all time, but I would be a happy camper if “Who’s Next” by The Who were in that list. After all, look what songs are on that album ” “Baba O’ Reilly”, “Won’t Get Fooled Again’, “Behind Blue Eyes” and a couple of others.

all i know is that back in black is the record with the most sales that is a rock album, so i don’t know how the eagles got infront of ac/dc

Enter your comment here other albums but Thriller is correct at number 1, Back in Black however is the 2nd best world wide selling album of all time! I know this as I’ve got the album review on DVD and it’s stated on there.
