Here are the Two that I would like to know how many sales to date have made. One would be Boston’s Debut Album and the album “Pyromania” by Def Leppard ?? For you classical music fans, Van Cliburn’s album of the Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto, No 1 and Sergei Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2 was the first classical platinum album in history. The year, 1958, right after he won The Tchaikovsky Competition in 1958 as well.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I have heard about an anecdote regarding The Beatles. They are the only recording act in the history, regardless of the type of music and genre, to have sold in excess of 1 BILLION albums totally in their career up to this date. And today November 29th, 2011 is the 10th anniversary of the death of George Harrison and coming up soon (December the 8th) will mark the 31st anniversary of the assassination of John Lennon.

Though its not in the Top Ten highest selling albums of all time, but I would be a happy camper if “Who’s Next” by The Who were in that list. After all, look what songs are on that album ” “Baba O’ Reilly”, “Won’t Get Fooled Again’, “Behind Blue Eyes” and a couple of others.
