cats in general have one the best lung capacity of animals,so if it was buttered and then thrown out of a spaceship it could hold its breath until it reached earth but will always land on its feet….no matter what speed.it then will sneeze, roll over on its back and scrape the butter off on a carpet…then act like nothing happened and start licking its hairy one

nope. The lungs are what ‘splode due to pressure. And only with a breath full of air. And their is nothing to absorb heat in space either so they wouldn’t freeze.

some of these answers are incorrect. the pressures of space on the unprotected human body would cause instant death. the toast answer is just ridiculous. please research better before posting on here. nothing is worse than misinformation

That’s not entirely true, dumb. You’ve got about a minute and half of consciousness if you breath out immediately. Then your lungs, muscles, and guts start to swell. And your eyes don’t pop out like on that bad Arnold Schwarzenegger movie, but the liquid in them (and your mouth) will begin to boil away. But, eventually, the air pressure messes with the gas exchange in your lungs and you pass out. And then you die.
