Do agree sadly that UK bands have us yankees trumped big time. It started with the Beatles and the Stones and the UK has been on top ever since. Personally I don't mind. Great music is great music no matter where it comes from.

As far as this list goes:

I love Radiohead, but have never understood why OK Computer gets all of this grandiose adoration. Personally, if you remove Paranoid Android from that album what is left?

If you want to argue a list based on copies sold you're looking more at a list of:

1. shania twain - come on over
2. whitney houston - the bodyguard
3. alanis morrisette - jagged little pill
4. hootie and the blowfish - cracked rear view
5 & 6. garth brooks - no fences and double live
7. santana - supernatural
8. backstreet boys - backstreet boys
9. garth brooks (yet again) - ropin the wind
10. britney spears - baby one more time

Those are your highest selling albums of the decade. Personally that makes me puke.

For a more accurate representation my list would look something akin to this:

My list is based on two things 1) popularity 2) could you put the disc in and just let the whole thing play?

10. Alanis Morrisette - Jagged Little Pill (As much as I hate her it has to be on there.)
9. Boyz II Men - II (Huge when around and was different from everything else. Seems to be OK Computer's only qualification. Topped 13 million in copies sold. Can that many people be wrong?)
8. U2 - Achtung Baby (Not a U2 fan, but it's a great album.)
7. Stone Temple Pilots - Core (More of a personal pick, but hey 15 years later and this entire disc still rocks)
6. R.E.M. - Automatic for the People (Still love it to this day and there isn't person alive who doesn't know Everybody Hurts or Man on the Moon)
5. Smashing Pumpkins - Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness (I know everyone says Siamese Dream is better, but is it really? I don't think so. I think Billy Corgan achieved his goal of creating "The Wall for Generation X.")
4. Foo Fighters - The Colour and the Shape (There are few talents in the industry like Dave Grohl. Beginning to end what a great album. Not to mention 6 grammy awards later for the band I have to put their best album on here. Not as popular sales wise which is a shame.)
3. Green Day - Dookie (Many albums later and this is still by far their best album and I love what they've done since Dookie.)
2. Metallica - Metallica (It may not be your number 2, but if it isn't on your list of greatest of the decade your not being honest to the decade.)
1. Nirvana - Nevermind (Imagine how glorious nearly 2 decades of Kurt Cobain and Dave Grohl teamed up would have been? We at least were blessed with 2 albums. In Utero is great, but this is the better of the 2.)

You just gave three examples of why that album is not listed.

Where's Green Day's Dookie? It made possible bands like Fall Out Boy, Blink-182, and Jimmy Eat World.
