I find this list as being rather questionable. First of all, No.15 Van Halen / "Ain't Talkin' Bout Love" is on their first self-entitled album (which also contains Eddie Van Halen's guitar solo "Eruption" and is the album that changed the way I listened to rock music forever !!) and NOT on their album entitled III which had as their singer Gary Chiccone who used to be the lead singer for the short lived Boston based rock band Extreme. and second, where is "Iron Man" by Black Sabbath ??? If you watch enough "Beavis & Butthead" (and I am not being fecitious) you'll understand why that is one of the most famous riffs of all time. I am not a fan of that cartoon but the few times that I have seen it, they're always flashing the Heavy Metal sign with their fingers, bouncing their heads up and down and yelling out the strains of the very beginning of that song. I would also like to mention that in my opinion, why did the Van Halen brothers (Eddie and Alex) fire David Lee Roth to begin with which I found to be one of the biggest travesties that I could ever think of. David Lee Roth WAS the show. I am pretty sure that it was the old "clash of the egos" situation.

Wow, awful first choice. If you have to use GNR (and you dont!) go for the Welcome to the Jungle. I would replace it with Raining Blood too, glad to see lots of others had the same idea.

I'm a huge nirvana fan but, lets admit it, that riff has been used dozens of times before and since and anyone with a basic grasp of powerchords will accidentally re-write that riff every time they try to write a song.
Top 15 songs? Maybe. Top 15 riffs? Not even close.
