In regards to No. 10 that Abner Doubleday invented Baseball, he is also credited for inventing the Box Score. And in regards to No.8, The Salem Witch Trials, I am a direct descendant of Samuel Gorton (who you can find in the encyclopedia or the wikipedia on your computer) who was from England and came to America in the very early 17th century and founded the city of Warwick, R.I. He was a priest by trade and knew very many influential people. But because of his preaching methods, he was condemned to heresy. I panel of judges took the consideration of the evidence on him and declared him innocent by just one vote. Had he been found guilty, he would have burned at the stake. If it not been for that one vote, I would probably not be here typing this, or I could be possibly somebody else.........WHEW !!!!

I actually read in some science magazine that Lady Godiva never existed and that it was most likely some old story.
The most egregious myth and fabrication of all time, that has resulted in the horrific brutal murder of millions of human beings, is the deadly fairy tale of Jesus Christ written by nebulous Roman sycophants and further embellished and exploited by power craving popes and bishops eventually resulting in the modern New Testament (and its associated mythologies).
Lets be truthful here in our ensorcelled USA and planet, there is not one, SCINTILLA of hard physical evidence, valid archeological data or one irrefutable eyewitness account to definitely substantiate the existence of Jesus of Nazareth. NOT ONE! The so called references by Josephus Flavius are wholly erroneous or at best, extremely dubious, based upon some incoherent writings that are only atrributed to him then further edited and conveniently embellished by Bishop Eusebius of 324 AD. This plus other cases of pure incredulous hearsay, is all the Christian church has to support the most influential, powerful and inexorably tenacious religious institution on the planet. The same holds for Islam and most other religious mythologies, they are just that - totally fabricated mythologies that ruthlessly promulgate and enforce their hypocritical, tyrannical pious dogma upon millions of innocent or uneducated, vulnerable, mostly poor populations. These religious tyrannies metastasize and terrorize the human species for one simple reason, power, greed and the feeding of pathological, atavistic impulses. As long as pathogenic organized religion exists, it will serve to facilitate tyrannical sociopaths and their associated fanatic death cultists which will certainly culminate in a final horrific climax which will witness the extinction of the human species, and maybe, if our species was only a failed experiment in a flash of geologic time, that is not such a bad thing:-)
