		<description><![CDATA[I think that Jim Steranko&#039;s artwork deserves an honorable mention. I remember his surrealistic &quot;op art&quot; techniques utilized in SHIELD, The X-Men and a few issues of Captain America during the late 60s. Steranko clearly influenced Todd McFarlane. I agree with the posters who mentioned Spider-Man #96-98 (the drug issues) and Dr. Fredric Wertham. Also of note is when Gwen Stacy was killed off in Spider-Man #121, as  a good number of comic book historians believed that this incident closed the door on Marvel&#039;s Silver Age and simultaneously initiating the far grittier Bronze Age of comics.]]></description>
