I would think that "The Sabre Dance" by Aram Khachaturian should be on this list and I just want to say that No.1 on this list Pachelbel's "Canon" has to be the dullest, sophomoric and most boring piece of music ever written !!! God, I can't stand that piece of music.......

Cool list, but Samuel Barber a one-hit wonder?? You have to be kidding me, man.

Yes, the Adagio is his most famous piece by far, but he is far removed from other composers on this list... and I believe his 1958 Pulitzer Prize for Music would agree with me.

Ah Pachelbel...how I loath thee. One of the best days of my life was when our Orchestra Teacher in High school showed us the piece we were going to play during one of our concerts. It was called "Cellists revenge" and it was Pachelbel in D with the violins and us cellists basically switching parts...BEST. CONCERT. EVER. Suck on that violinists, you are no longer needed!!!!

Haha this is really funny.
Especially the Delibes... Jesus... That's the ultimate operatic one hit wonder.
Aww sad to see Barber, but unless you're a vocalist or accompanist it's pretty true, with maybe the exception of Sure On This Shining Night... love it, but if I hear it in another junior recital or hear another high school choir do the choral arrangement, I might punch something/one.

Sam Barber doesn't belong on the list at all; he was a very prominent composer. Let's remove the Adagio from the list and replace it with Sorceror's Apprentice.

In 1001 Classical Recordings You Must Hear Before You Die, pages 500 and 501 are committed to a work by French composer Paul Dukas called L'apprenti sorcerier (The Sorcerer's Apprentice), which, as the article, admits, was made famous by its featuring in Fantasia. Page 500 talks about the work itself. Page 501 shows a picture of Dukas and the caption reads, "Paul Dukas, whose reputation rests on The Sorcerer's Apprentice." Surely you could have taken off one from this list and replaced it with Apprentice.

As for the other one-hit wonder page, here are well-known notable omissions:

I SWEAR All-4-One
SH-BOOM The Chords (Reading Wikipedia's article on this doo-wop groub is how I first knew the term "one-hit wonder" was in circulation.)
