One example is Samson’s long hair, which gave him the strenght that made him infamous among many men, and another is Elijah’s pattern of hair on his head. These were physical, visual symbols of pacts made with the Lord between these two, and in Samson’s case cutting his hair would mean to break the pact, losing his strenght and eventually die.

The article writer’s reading of the bible is also wrong, since, Jacob didn’t actually do some painting, he peeled the barks and put them in the watering troughs, where the animals would drink (He got Elisha vs Elijah wrong too, and about Onan’s sin as well). As in the article I shared, this is used as a crude type of aphrodisiac for animals to breed better. In modern genetics, we know that there are dominant and recessive traits, even full white ewes carry spotted&speckled traits. And that they breed simply because they are of the same “created kind” (or “family” in the nomenclature used in animal classification) Get these things right first before you try and make us believe that we do not know how basic genetics work. Don’t forget, Gregor Mendel was a monk at the same time he is a scientist, I bet he read Jacob’s account and did studied if it applied to peas and other plants. Secondly, do not assume that every story in the bible has some moral value, that simply isn’t the point.

verse about killing homo*****uals = take it literally.

i cant really be too mad at Christians or Muslims, when you’re born into a cult it is quite difficult to get out when your parents have been drilling that book down your throats since birth. but i have hope that one day u guys will wake up, burn those books and just be happy. another thing ive noticed is that 9 out of 10 of those claiming to be Christians have not read the bible, i think the sheer size of it scares them off, but i took 8 months to read and study it just to see for myself ”what the hype is all about”..and really after reading it i feel more disgusted people actually hold that book as sacred.
