NOBODY has said Antonio Salieri from the movie Amadeus. I know he wasn't insane in real life, but in the film he was, and F. Murray Abraham (the guy who played Salieri) did an EXCELLENT job as a crazy guy.

leatherface and bates were psychotic, not really psychopathic… (find some of the earlier commets in this section).

—if you think robert mitchum was better than de niro, in terms of acting ability/believability/what-have-you, then you may have a point.
—if you think mitchum is *scarier*….meh….maybe — but that gets into perception….there is a lot of visual imagry here, that cannot be ignored, and is most likely why my 80 year old mother thought mitchum was scarier, but my 19 yearold girlfriend was more freaked out by de niro.
—now, if you think mitchum was more psychopathic — well, there, i believe you to just be wrong (in *my* opinion) — i respect yours, but dont agree at all.

Dude, what the hell are American Psycho, Cape Fear and Peeping Tom doing on this list?

Cape Fear was a *****ty re-make, even the antagonist in the original film was scarier than that.

Peeping Tom is a great film, but more of a crime mystery for me than a killer flick.

American Psycho… you ought to be fined for putting that in the same list as Henry.

You also missed couple of the obvious ones: Leatherface from Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Psycho.

I think Dieter Laser should be on this list for the portrayal of Dr.Heiter in The Human Centipede. He beat all of these guys hands down.
