Has it occurred to the people who generated these lists that the best way to debunk something is to call it a a ‘conspiracy theory?’ UFOs are the perfect example. Official documents obtained by FOIA requests establish that in 1953, the US government was sufficiently alarmed about UFOs and their potential affect on national security that they decided to maintain a serious investigation above top secret while establishing Project Blue book not as an investigatory program but a debunking operation. If a plausible idea can be labeled a ‘conspiracy theory,’ it gets added to lists like this, which actually help further debunk a theory or idea that might have otherwise been taken more seriously. One reason conspiracy theories begin and spread is not difficult to understand: Official explanations of important events are simply implausible (i.e.; JFK was killed by a lone gunman; UFOs don’t exist; the US government never expected terrorists to use jets as missiles) and so people begin to question what happened and why, which in turn leads to reasonable speculation. Over time, reasonable speculation is replaced by often wild speculations, which is the whole purpose of debunking. Government establishes the ‘official’ conspiracy theory, the media embraces it, and it becomes generally accepted by an undiscriminating citizenry. The 9/11 attack is a perfect example of this process. Even before the 9/11 Commission had been established, the government posited a conspiracy theory, which became the official explanation. The 9/11 Commission was established not to find out what happened but to validate the government’s explanation. In do so, the 9/11 Commission followed the exact methodology of the JFK Warren Commission. Obviously, not all conspiracy theories should be taken seriously but the best way to validate an official explanation and to debunk any alternative explanations is to call them conspiracies. here are my 2 cents -
1. if something is portrayed as REALLY bad or REALLY good (communism, Saddam, Rennaisance, etc.) thats not the case and the people who support it gain profit from people believing it is so
2. today there is more exploitation, slavery and poverty than any other time in history.
3. the american nation is brainwashed on a day to day basis. whenever i argue with americans all of them use 1 word as follows: the word they use is ignorant. they become agressive towards people like me who outclass them intellectually.

I want to make my own conspiracy theory that encompasses everything.

Bigfoot is the second coming of christ who is secretly working with Xenu to keep us from knowing the secrets of the modern age. Some recovered are that Aliens are actually gaurdians and that the sky is actually a force field to keep us in. 9/11 was caused to stir worldly concern so we would stay ignorant of the fact that we are slaves to aliens who monitor us constantly, through cameras. They give us drugs so that we don’t can’t fight back, and all of the governments know the truth, but won’t reveal it to us because they are slaves just like us, forced to build our planet so that the aliens can kill us all and take the planet for themselves!!! Satan was the only one who cared for our well being, and he was sent to the core of the earth!!!!!!

I love doing that kind of stuff.

i truly hate how people think “conspiracy theorists” are a bunch of loonies..
i must admit though there are those who take these theories and exaggerate them with a hint of paranoia BUT

there ARE people who don’t just sit there and take everything that this government spoonfeeds us…. there ARE those who ask QUESTIONS… AND ARE AWARE…

but if you want to sit in front of your idiot box and think the world is all rosy then hey, ignorance is bliss…

#1 is most certainly not true. I mean, sure, there’s a group of elites and world bankers, but the thought that they have some horrible plan to enslave humanity, is nothing short of ridiculous. There are so many holes in the theory, it’s not even funny.
