No competition, Theodore Roosevelt, beyond intelligent, appealed to the masses, by the time he was elected he had already lived an extraordinary life, continued to learn and create adventure until the day he died, the guy was a badass…

2. Thomas Jefferson
3. Geaorge Washington
4. JFK
5. Abe Lincoln

FDR or Jackson would put the people first. Lincoln also would get us out of the war.

The founding fathers knew what it cost in lives for America to win its freedom, so one of them would be more passionate about protecting it from the greedy, self-serving legislators that take it from us using “noble” excuses like the drug war, identity theft and terrorism.

Reagan is the guy responsible for aligning the militia with law enforcement. The 2-term tradition was made into law because FDR he had a God complex and manipulated himself into being nominated, against many of his own party.

I would pick Thomas Jefferson or Ben Franklin, with Franklin as my first choice. We need his combination of intellect, creativity and sense of humanity.

I give FDR credit for his leadership during WWII, but he didn’t get us out of the great depression. The unemployment crisis didn’t end until the start of the war, and the economy didn’t prosper again until after the war. In fact, his policies arguably made the depression worse.

I’d have to go with George Washington or Reagan.

Also, Calvin Coolidge. He understood that you could be a decent president without extensive use of expensive ineffective programs, bloated bureaucracies, and teleprompters.

Can I just say there are a few misconceptions about Reagan.

1. He did not end the cold war. The people of Berlin and Eastern Europe ended the cold war.

2. What is the real difference between him and Bush? Bush invaded Iraq. Reagan supported rebels in Nicaragua which led to the pointless deaths of many.

3. He was Anti-democracy I f he didn’t like a government he had it overthrown.

Ill never understand how he is regarded as one of the great American presidents.
