Wow, these are fantastic,
For some reason, I’m hungry!
February 22nd, 2008 at 4:51 am
Awesome pics!
February 22nd, 2008 at 4:54 am
Wow! these are amazing!!!!!
I wonder how long it took to make those
February 22nd, 2008 at 4:58 am
Far from the traditional bowl of fruit.
Damnit the apples are supposed to be green and the grapes purple.
Did anybody else insist when they were kids not to do red apples and green grapes?

Im08Just97Me: AGES I would imagine – they are so detailed!
GingerLee: alas my drawings as a child looked like someone had spilt seafood chowder over them – you couldn’t even tell what was meant to be an apple!

Cool Italian home!!
February 22nd, 2008 at 5:24 am
This made me very hungry. Alas, i have no food. Thus, this made me very angry.
Nice list anyway.

These were on the BBC website a couple of weeks ago, except there were 10 of them then. They are pretty amazing. There was a little ‘blurb’ about each one as well. I beleive he took pictures of different ‘layers’ then put them together afterwards. Pretty amazing anyway.
J, did you add a wavy design to the top banner? It looks a lot better I think.
February 22nd, 2008 at 5:31 am
dangorironhide: ah – thanks for letting me know the original source!
And yes – Chica made the wavy design for the top – I put it in the day after the new site launched
February 22nd, 2008 at 5:46 am
It’s been a while since they were on the site so they’re not on there any more (I’ve just looked), and I can’t remember/find in google images the artist who did them.
February 22nd, 2008 at 5:48 am
The layers thing make good sense, esp. when looking at the Fruity Ballons. I’d use some of these for a background pic but I’d be eating all day
(fav: Salmon Seas)
Thanks Jamie!

MMMMM . . . Food . . .
These images are freaking incredible. Number 3 is my favorite.
February 22nd, 2008 at 6:20 am
AHHHH! It’s the attack of the loud annoying banners again!
February 22nd, 2008 at 7:03 am
Mystern: are you getting loud banners? Can you tell me which one (ie, top, middle, bottom) and what they are advertising?
February 22nd, 2008 at 7:05 am
jfrater: It’s the top one with the smileys. It’s only loud when I accidentally scroll my mouse pointer over it. it says that really annoying and loud “HELLLOOOOO!”
February 22nd, 2008 at 7:09 am
i wonder if this person is only talented with food art or if he/she could paint or sculpt or whatever.
February 22nd, 2008 at 7:13 am
mom (to child): stop playing with your food!
artist (as a child): but mom, i’m going to be a famous food artist one day.
mom: yeah right, and i’m gonna be queen of england.
artist: but mom, i made the mona lisa out of bacon and vermicelli
mom: ummmmm, wow. that’s, uh, pretty good.
was this the only kid in history to get away with playing with his food? could we all have turned into this without our overbearing, stifling parents?
February 22nd, 2008 at 7:17 am
My fave is number 5, I’m sure constructing these took way more patience than I have. Quite a coincidence, I saw these last night when I was looking for new desktop wallpaper…
I ended up with a Paul Cezanne painting….’Still life with compotier’
February 22nd, 2008 at 7:49 am
LOL@ DiscHuker! bacon and vermicelli…
Mystern: I hate that smiley… I always seem to roll over that one too… strange.
These pictures are amazing… my personal fave would be vege cave… might be because I am partial to blue. The vegetable market is also very nice… it reminds me of this market I went to in Jamaica.

Login isn’t working…hmmmmmm
AND…someone was really bored.
February 22nd, 2008 at 8:39 am
One of the most truly interesting lists on this site, and beautiful artistry by whomever concocted them.
This folks, is creativity…
February 22nd, 2008 at 8:55 am
longball: it is – just hit refresh and it will – there is a bug since we moved to Squid – I need to resolve it.
February 22nd, 2008 at 9:03 am
Tastiest list yet, in my opinion
the images are delightfully “cartoonish”, wouldn’t you say?
February 22nd, 2008 at 9:07 am
DiscHusker: I dunno – my parents didn’t really mind me playing with me food, but I’m not an awesome food artist. So, no.
February 22nd, 2008 at 9:19 am
ooooh, pretty colors, my fave is vege cave
February 22nd, 2008 at 9:32 am
Those little cheese houses look delicious.
February 22nd, 2008 at 9:39 am

A Compotier on your Computer?
February 22nd, 2008 at 9:41 am

February 22nd, 2008 at 10:11 am
These look a lot like clay-mation.
My favorite is number 4.
Love the fruity balloons!
February 22nd, 2008 at 10:27 am
jfrater….thanks. got it.
February 22nd, 2008 at 10:32 am
These are exquisite!! What talent, even with the layering, and not just building it all at once. Do you think the food would have gone bad before he was done completing them?
February 22nd, 2008 at 10:45 am
Those are really cool! I’m going to grab a fork and dig in.
February 22nd, 2008 at 10:55 am
I’ve seen these before too on some guy’s website. Doesn’t make it any less amazing though! Oh the patience!! =)
February 22nd, 2008 at 11:11 am
stevenh; yup a compotier on my computer, google paul cezanne, compotier, most beautiful still life ever, you can almost feel the texture of the peaches….
February 22nd, 2008 at 11:17 am
I don’t know who copied who of if both copied, but I just saw this on another website.
http://eatmypotato.com/?p=178
This one to be exact. Oh well, still cool.
February 22nd, 2008 at 11:23 am
goof_ball: thanks for the link – that has a few not included here. I got sent the images in an email which didn’t name the source – though it seems the source is BBC – so we both copied
February 22nd, 2008 at 11:29 am
Oh well… Still funny
February 22nd, 2008 at 12:06 pm
mmmmmm…foooood
February 22nd, 2008 at 12:39 pm
The artist is Carl Warner and his website is http://www.carlwarner.com/ The food ones are in the Fotographics section. You do need flash to view his site, however.
February 22nd, 2008 at 2:26 pm
MMMMMMMMMMMM…….A fat man’s dream!
February 22nd, 2008 at 3:16 pm
I stared at the first one forever thinking, “I don’t get it…where’s the salmon? Is it that little green thing?”
I’m an idiot.
February 22nd, 2008 at 4:27 pm
What a great idea for a list! Very cool pictures!
February 22nd, 2008 at 11:10 pm

February 23rd, 2008 at 12:30 pm
Great stuff!!
February 24th, 2008 at 1:04 am
Its amazing what people think of to occupy thier time…pretty cool. Also, if you ever wondered what “the world” would look like if it could get sick and die..imagine these things in about 2 weeks once decay and rotting have taken hold..
February 24th, 2008 at 11:12 am
These are so amazing.
I am always in awe of other peoples talent like this, probably cause I have none!! LOL
February 25th, 2008 at 5:52 pm
Im moving to bread mountain when I grow up :]
I like the fruit balloons best.
March 2nd, 2008 at 10:27 pm

March 3rd, 2008 at 10:45 pm
Animal House – Food Fight
March 12th, 2008 at 4:13 pm
this was so cool and it must have took a lot of time to do and very enteresting how you can take simple things and make one million dollar thing!
March 28th, 2008 at 8:25 pm
You people need to stop steeling from other people’s web sites… and if you just can’t help it, then at least put the proper references. This art is from Carl Warner http://www.carlwarner.com/ and his presentation is MUCH better than this page anyway!
March 28th, 2008 at 8:32 pm
54. Angela
why not read preceding comments before you accuse people of ’steeling’ (stealing)?
36. jfrater
39. Carrie
March 28th, 2008 at 8:46 pm
Cyn: You go girl I agree totally with what you said on the other list earlier.
All of these haters need to stop bashing Jfray and listverse so much. I don’t see any of them doing the amazing job that he is doing with this website, and I have even seen a couple of comments about how he should stop talking so much about his vacations blah blah blah. The personal connection that Jfray maintains with commenters is one of the top reasons this is such an awesome site and sets it above the rest.
March 28th, 2008 at 8:53 pm
56. stormy617
that is sweet of you to say.
thank you.

I see Carl Warner’s creations all over the I-net and find it hard to understand how people can just copy his work like this without permission. (However, were it not for finding the stuff all over the place I would never have known.)
I am requesting his permission to use some of the images in a children’s book I am doing. I hope he gives it because if not I will have to go to the trouble and expense of “photoshopping” my own images with layers from his 16 or more images and others. Thanks to whomever started the #1 here.
May 19th, 2008 at 4:36 pm
i would never be able to construct such amazing scenes because i would eat the scenery
May 19th, 2008 at 4:56 pm
Well…. long story short. Everyone in the world can seem to have these seven scenes all over the Net, but I requested the use of 3 of them in a children’s book I am doing. Guess what? It seems Carl Warner is suddenly doing his own children’s book. Good luck Carl! Watch for my “Rabbits Rule At Night School,” soon to be available at http://www.barnesandnoble.com, amazon.com, bamm.com, buy.com, and your favorite books store.
