in number 1 i could hear “grandad went away, no grandad.” on a loop, my grandad died this year….creepy. its unsettled me quite a bit.

Firstly, I can’t believe I’ve been reading listverse for so long and never heard this list. Actually, I usually come to listverse when I’m bored at work and I dont have stereo speakers at work so I guess I must have given it a miss. Today I’ve listened to these amazing sounds at home.

All I heard for number 1 are the words “nowhere” and “where no” alternating between the left and right speakers. Occasionally the “where no” sounded like “Randall”.

The barber shop really freaked me out, that should have been number 1.

i think a variation of number 8 is used in super mario 64 when u go up the impossible staircase with not enough stars (you have to play the game =p).

Just wanted to point out that I’m left handed, and for #1 I could hear both scales in both ears simultaneously. But I’m also a musician (completely self-taught, aside from a little music theory), so I don’t know if which of those two factors is affecting my perception the most.
