He got quite pissed off and said something along the lines of "Will nobody rid me of this man?" He was angry and ranting but a couple of enterprising knights overheard him and took his yelling seriously. They rushed to Canterbury and killed Becket. Whatever happened to simply burning people in effigy? FYI, sometimes you do have to shoot a dead horse (or cow) - ranchers know exactly what I mean. :-) ...then we can sentence them to 50 years for being stinky!
