		<description>Brontosaurus did not exist - the assumed species was constructed out fossils from 2 different species (head from a camarasaurus and body of an apatosaurus.) The reason why apatosaurus became the official name was because it came first and &quot;brontosaurus&quot; was simply a misclassification of an older apatosaurus.

The term is not in scientific use but still lives on in commoner talk, mostly thanks to popular culture.</description>
