you miss the most awesome scape, maybe cause he was a german soldier, the cornellius rosts scape from siberian prision in a trip for 14000 kms in 3 years, this scape is narrated in books, movies an even tv series “to my feet carry me”

the maze escape should be at the top,the guys who escaped are actually doing a tour of pubs in ireland telling the story of the escape,i was outside it once,it would send a shiver down your spine,killings inside,blanket protest,hunger strikes to the death, 40 prison warders killed, 50 prison warders comitted suicide,it has a brutal place in irish history

There are some far more amazing escapes that dont get a mention here. there’s the robert dale shepherd escape whereby he used a dental floss rope to clumb up a 20ft mesh roof and cut his way out with a hacksaw blade, whilst holding onto the rope. there’s the parkhurst (isle of white uk) escape whereby 3 prisoners got out by using 1 of their photgraphic memories to remember the pattern of a skeleton key then carve 1 out + improvised a ladder out of soccer goal posts to climb the wall. i agree with the above comment about the maze. all these old style escapes are well and good but it must be remembered that its far far harder to escape from a modern prison.
