I am 3 years late commenting, but I got a kick out of this list. Louis Cyr is my Great-great-grandfather. And most people outside of Quebec or the east coast of Canada don’t know of him anymore. So I was so excited seeing him get some props! There’s a great Louis Cyr statue in that district in Montreal you mentioned by the way.

@Mom424: No, it's not well documented. Historians and ship makers from the time say that all anchors in the area weighed around 600 lbs. Most of the claims about his feats of strength have been dismissed by strength historians. And he never weighed anywhere near 580 lbs.
