You are so wrong! I don't know where you got your information, but you don't know a thing about colds. And the people who believe you should know better. As an allergic I can tell you dairy products build mucus galore, on snowy winters people get colds galore because eccessive cold weakens the immune system (yep, a weak immune system makes you prone to infection, ask AIDS sufferers) and vitamin c staves it off, yes. Ask Linus Pauling! Btw, I hardly ever get one because I take mega doses of this nutrient. People always wonder why! I pitty the suffering that awaits you with colds, being so ignorant.

Most of this article is incorrect. Sorry but pain killers and cold medicine will only help you FEEL better. It won't do anything to contain the flu. No shit having a weak immune system will increase your chances of catching a cold. Vitamin C DOES help your body fight off a cold. And please don't tell people that its fine to go around kissing other people when they have a cold. Please get your shit straight Listverse.

There are actually quite a few misconceptions in your misconception buster. People may seem healthy but have impaired immune function due to imperceptible interference in the nervous sytem. It isn't so much that "healthy & unhealthy people alike are susceptible to colds" but that healthy-appearning people are susceptible to colds. The better your immune system is functioning, the more readily you body fights off the cold. Unfortunately, conventional medicine does not measure immune system function until is is in really bad shape. Secondly, treating the symptoms with medication DOES suppress how the body deals with illness, and further disrupts and damages the body and its function. Medicines don't "contain" or heal the cold, they make you feel "better" at the expense of keeping you sicker longer, or fooling you into thinking you are well enough to go out and about when you should be resting. Medicine is great for emergency care, but should be minimised in normal "illness". Your flu-shot information is also quite incorrect - there are MANY studies out there showing the non-efficacy and also harm caused by flu shots; however as long as the flu shots are a money-making endevour for pharmaceutical companies, advertising will overshadow what is best for our health. Not enough time to devote to going through each of your points, but remember, convential medicine is not an exact science, and many things that are pushed as being correct or true are in fact only theory, held up by studies that are geared for the results that are wanted.

The 8th section on Weak Immune System, is incorrect with possibly bad research.
Ever since I started increasing my immune system since about a year and half ago with lot of fruits and raw vegetables, I have hardly ever got sick. On the rare occasion I caught a col about twice, they disappeared within a day and I do not get sick like I used to previously.
