I think everybody who agreed with this list did so, because they don’t want others to think that they like the music everybody likes. Look how many copies of Nirvana, Metallica, GnR have been sold; millions. People buy the music they like. If they don’t like it they wont buy it. IMO-

1. You put Nirvana on #1. A band which changed the whole scenario for alternative rock bands to come and made songs like “Come As You Are”, “Scentless Apprentice” etc., if you call them overrated, I am damn proud they are and am damn sure you have no life.

2. Metallica makes “hollow” music? Can you please tell me which part of the album called “Master of Puppets”(if you ever heard of it!!) hollow? You my friend are deaf, and not only that, you’re dumb.

3. GnR “sounding same” on every track? Really? “Sweet Child O’ Mine”, “Estranged”, “November Rain” Same?

The Rolling Stones are another band that had a huge impact on historic events, especially during the 60s. The problem is that some people want to have an opinion on the matter without not even doing a basic research about it and end up drawing hasty distorted conclusions. Kids, just because you didn’t like some 5 or 6 songs that you heard on the radio, it doesn’t mean you know a band’s whole career and importance, impact, influence, innovation and so on that they had.
Hence all the stupidity found on the comment page.
To say The Rolling Stones are overrated is almost as absurd as calling The Beatles overrated.

The Beatles changed the world forever. They literally CHANGED THE WORLD, not only musically, but also culturally and socially. To say The Beatles are overrated is to be, at minimum, musically uneducated and misinformed.

The most OVERRATED band of all time goes by the name of LED ZEPPELIN. Not even 1/3 as good and important as some people say they were.

Red Hot Chili Peppers are a really good band, js… And I kind of agree with you about Nirvana – not in the sense that their music is undeserving of fame, they are literally my favorite band of all time – but in the sense that everyone is all “Oh, I love Nirvana!” And they can’t name any song other than Smells Like Teen Spirit.

I agree with every single band on this list. I only like a few songs from most of them, for example U2, I only like 2 of their songs.
Metallica maybe 3.
G&R I only like November Rain and some of them I like none at all, like Nickelback.
I’d say out of all of them that I like RHCP the most because they have at least 5 songs that I enjoy. I would never go out of my way to buy any of their albums though.
Oh, and I think The Rolling Stones should definitely be on this list too.
