BLADE RUNNER!???????????????!!?!?!?

WTF. I fucking hated that movie because the book was amazing and the movie bastardized it. You sir are crazy. DADoES is an amazingly deep book, where as Blade Runner drops 80% of the book that actually made it a deep story.

Wow, you truly know nothing of great literature. Different Seasons is a book of short stories, not a legendary saga like The Stand. What did you think of The Dark Tower series? Yeah, you probably didn't read it. The point is, there is no movie that is better than a Stephen King book. So stop trying to sound intelligent, and stop posting stupid shit.

It is indeed hard to compare Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? and Blade Runner. However, if I were to do so, I would completely disagree. Don't get me wrong, Blade Runner is great, but the novel has so much more going for it, because even the most seemingly trivial aspects tend to be quite important, like the mood organs and the attitudes about animals that people share and even Rick Deckard climbing a mountain. All of it comes together to give of a brilliantly delivered message.

It still isn't accurate.

Considering cyberpunk is pretty much summed up as "high tech, low life," many works, including several of Philip K. Dick's can be considered cyberpunk.

Either way you look at it, no, Neuromancer was not the first cyberpunk work. Plenty of authors and scriptwriters and even those who make comics and manga beat him to the punch. In fact, the earliest novel that could probably be considered cyberpunk is The Stars My Destination by Alfred Bester, and that was written way back in 1956.
