I've been to The Whale, Cadillac Ranch, passed the Blue Swallow, but stayed at the WigWam Village in Holbrook, AZ, and a photo-op "standing on the corner in Winslow, AZ" which should be on this list! check out the pics http://www.whereswillie.com/GetPage.asp?ID=25

Too bad the Blue Hole of Santa Rosa, NM didn't make the list. It's definitely a must see for anyone traveling Route 66. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A77...

I live within walking distance of Ted Drewes. Delicious stuff, if I do say so myself. I would recommend the Crater Copernicus. YUM.

Well, let's see, Route 66 is our "Mother Road", surrounded and traveled on by mostly Americans. People who choose Route 66 trips are generally wanting to have a genuine American experience. If it's "too American" for you, don't bother mixing with those of us who love & appreciate it. Go to Paris or something & practice your sneer. We'll be as American (and as Texan) as we want! Great list. I’ve been to and photographed all of them and many, many more. Mom and I travelled the entire 2,448 miles and stopped at every attraction and point of interest along the way with lots of greasy spoon diners. Yum! We did it in three 800+ mile sections in three summers. The highlight of my life. To some it may appear “tacky” but that is, after all, its claim to fame. Much more fun than any fancy, expensive tourist resort.
