That's right: I saw that piece of schlock back in the day when it first came out…
I thought it was schlock then, too; I was fourteen, then.

I got to see it again, or get a copy for my self. I need a good laugh or a good upchuck: whichever comes first.

Santa Claus is coming to town is indeed worthy of epic status. But when they show on the tube they always show the cut-up version. Thank God for the uncut DVD version that we all can all enjoy and if the little ones see the ” cut- up” version wean POP in the uncut DVD version & show the kiddies how it was shown before editing overkill ruined this immortal classic. Here’s my best and worst Christmas cartoon list… first the best (5) Claymation Christmas (4) Codename Kids Next Door Operation N.A.U.G.H .T.Y.(3) The Fat Albert Christmas Special (2) Bah Humduck & (1) (it’s a tie!) ShrekThe Halls, The Penguins of Madagascar Christmas Paper and Disney’s Prep & landing. And the worst…..(5)Frosty Returns (4) Aliens First Christmas (3) Jingle Bell Rap, (2) Mike Young version of The Life And Times Of Santa Claus ( the Rankin Bass version was better!) And at #1 Filmation’s Snow White Christmas. Dishonorable mention. Goes to the original ” Yes Virginia There Is A Santa Claus “(the newer CGI remake is way better!)

What gets me is that all these specials, so-called good or bad, are all commercial misrepresentations of Christmas designed simply to make us feel “better” thru spending money at season’s end. The only one’s who benefit from this “Orgy-Porgy” of excess are retailers trying to unload at year’s end overpriced CRAP no one really needs. The religious aspect of the holiday is enough for me, YET I am not naive enough to think calling Christmas and it’s “groovy vibes” bad is going to change anything. If I ruled the world, I’d officially declare what all historians KNOW to be fact…Jesus was born in AUGUST/September on the Julian Calender. December 25th is a totally PAGAN holiday in worship of SOL, the sun god’s beginning return to Earth at the end of Winter’s Solstice, the shortest day of light for the planet.

To our Jewish friend above who commented on Christmas Specials being boring, I ask, WHY have there not been any Chanukah Specials?. As a Southern Protestant, I didn’t even KNOW about Chanukah in my town, with a huge Jewish populi, until high school and meeting a sweet Reformed gal. Heck, the Apochrypha was considered a “Catholic thing” transcribed in Latin in the back of only a few bibles (Not our King James). Could it be that not all Jews actually believed “The Miracle of Lights” OR did they feel pressured NOT to celebrate it because of fear of persecution?. I would think after WWII, Chanukah would be considered a WORLD-WIDE holiday. I would love to see specials about it. I think it would be a much better holiday to celebrate (Eight Nights YEA!)

BTW, why haven’t Jews been up in arms about Kwansa?. I mean, it’s a total rip-off of Chanukah. (7 days.7 candles instead of 8 and 8). I don’t care who it offends, this made-up mess, circa 1966 is complete BOLLOCKS!

But then again, some people think they invented Jazz out of rag-time and Dixieland BUT both those were predecessed by Klezmer Music from East Europe..

BTW, I’m with Scrooge..He should’nt have been tormented because Bob Marley and his wife overpropogated!. Charles Dickens was a Marxist!
