BODY HEAT: The Myth: You lose most of your body heat through your head

This is actually true.....The writer is misrepresenting the findings. Yes a body loses most of it's heat through the body based on area....However, if you compare percentage of heat loss based on area, the amount of heat loss is greater through the head. Besides most people don't go outside naked, but often without a hat.....If a person is properly attired for the weather but NOT wearing a hat, 70% of your heat loss will be through your head.

The whole "it's easier to lose weight" is fine... One paper but in practice it's not exactly that simple. If it was then millions of people wouldn't struggle with obesity.

As a university lecturer, I find that the majority of students who have been diagnosed as having ADHD don't have a thing wrong with them. A few even see it as a free ride and expect to be pass exams despite producing answers that show a low level of understanding and competency.

Most students with 'special needs' however just get on with it and show little if any difference in their performance compared to normal students. We all like to look out the window during classes after all, yet we are not all diagnosed as ADHD.

Having myself having been diagnosed as having such severe learning difficulties that I needed to go to a 'special' school, yet went to a normal one due to my mother's instance and subsequently obtained both law and finance qualifications to a post graduate level, without any extra help, please excuse my cynicism that 'special needs' is somewhat over diagnosed.

It has turned into a self perpetuating industry, in which those diagnosing students as ADHD derive their incomes from doing so.

It is a fair point - how many kids with ADHD have problems concentrating while playing an x-box?

Very few?

That should tell us how over diagnosed ADHD is.

All of this 'special needs' has turned into an industry in itself.

If you employ people to find witches, they find witches.

JFrater, you must have the most half-baked lists I've ever read. I can always spot a Frater piece; infused with plenty of opinion, editorializing. And barely a legitimate fact in the lot. Do you even DO research?! If anything, I think you surf the Internet for a moment or two until you find some quackery to substantiate your own short-sighted, blithering opinions. It's laughable.

Yeah, how can you be so confident with their answers. Just because someone of authority says something is true/false doesn't mean you should believe it. That is usually when problems occur. You also have to consider that other scientists have disagreements with the information on this. For example, #10 says that sugar doesn't make them hyper. It has been proven that sugar enhances the amount of glucose in a their body, causing for a body "high". This high is what gets their blood flow to increase.
In conclusion to, don't believe everything you read.
