The christ statement by John was to maureen cleve a reporter with the times and was made at a party . It was meant to be an informal converstation and it happened and was reported in england 18 months before it got to the u.s. John was right though the maniacal bible belt took it too far it didnt finish the beatles obviously. If John hadve said more people were wearing shoes than going to jesus shows then it wouldve slipped by as the chance remark it was. Another example of being held to ransom by zealot christians.
