I remember when the McDLT came out. You couldn’t go 5 minutes without seeing a commercial for it. I finally convinced my mom to buy me one (she hated fast food). It was disgusting.

I remember Mcdonald’s selling chicken Mcnuggets back in the mid-eighties with chopsticks and dipping sauce. The chopsticks even had istructions for use printed on the wrapper. It was some Asian theme they had going on and it was really wacky!

We have a couple McDonalds in WV that still sell the pizza. I absolutely love it. We drive 30 minutes just to get it a few times a year.

Speaking of McDonalds in other countries, in China, they actually offer kinds of pies other than apple: sweet taro and pineapple. In some cities, McDonalds ice cream cones are so popular that they have McDonald stands that sell only ice cream.

I loved the McDLT. It was the first time I ever had mayo on a burger and I was hooked. I’m not sure how widespread it was but here in Wisconsin they offered Johnsonville brats for a limited time only they didn’t call them McBrats. They capitalized on the fact that Johnsonville makes the best mass produced brats and simply called them Johnsonville brats.

On a related note I worked for a few summers at an Amoco Foam products plant where they made the Styro packaging for Mcdonalds around the time when they introduced the McDLT. It was the most PITA item we produced.
