i thought A L’Interieuer was kinda lame really. it reminded me of the old Lucio Fulci films where there’s gore to point of being erotic and you start to wonder ‘gee, should i be like masturbating to this or something?’…

i think Seul Contre Tous (I Stand Alone) is a candidate on many disturbing levels: philosophical nihilism, graphic violence, themes. and Philosophy Of A Knife can be somewhat gruelling if you have the five or so hours to watch it in its entirety…

@stephanie (239): Cannibal Holocaust made memorable appearance – at number one – on the original “Top 15 Most Disturbing Movies” list. Which personally I think is crap because IMO any AU movie beats Cannibal Holocaust in terms of “disturbingness”.

Good list, I have seen all but dumplings.
You should check out a very long movie called Philosophy of a Knife, based on true story of the man behind the sun experiments. filmed in black and white, still very disturbing and makes most of the above list seem like a PG rated stuff
