I don't smoke and I married a man who doesn't smoke, but I grew up with my dad smoking cigarettes. I hated the smell as a child and I hate it still, the acrid burning in the nostrils and it makes anyone in the same house stink! Though personally I don't believe in trying to force people not to smoke. I think that's evil…if you want to smoke like a chimney that should be your own business though clearly it's nice to eat in restaurants without my food tasting of cigarette smoke. But as for number 7…the pipe…my Grandfather smoked a pipe (died from lung cancer) but it smelled SO lovely. It was a mild sweet scent. I used to open his tobacco pouch just to smell the leaves. If I could remember what type he smoked I'd keep a tin just to smell and think of him.

They will never outlaw smoking because then they’d have another prohibition on their hands. And the jails are too full as it is. I am a smoker, and I am consistently amazed by the people who react as though my cigarette smoke were nerve gas. People who cross 30 feet of outdoor space to tell me that my smoke is bothering them. (but then they’ll go stand by a campfire or ask for some cocaine.) secondhand smoke does absolutely nothing to anybody. It causes cancer in the way that potatoes cause cancer. (everybody who has cancer has, at least once in their life, eaten potatoes.) it’s complete BS. I don’t care that cigarettes come in “gold” or “silver” instead of light or ultra-light. But I do care that the government is gradually trying to eliminate something I care very deeply about. (I love smoking, it’s not a habit, it’s a hobby.) until we have a completely socialized healthcare system, I don’t think the government has any right to tell me what I can or cannot do with my own damned lungs!

here in Canada, you can pay anywhere between $6.00-$11.00/pack, and $50.00-$90.00/carton, for LEGAL smokes. If you buy the illegal native-made brands from the reserves, you usually get a pack for $3.50, and a bag of 200 smokes for $20.00-$30.00. Needless to say, I am extremely jealous of your prices…. ours are INSANE!!
