I remember I got dragged to Princess Bride kicking and screaming by my then girlfriend. Did not want to see that movie for anything in the world. Then I LOVED it. Heard about that for the duration of the relationship. Also, love Excalibur. So numbers one and two are great and the list isn’t bad except for your one glaring omission and others have mentioned it THE DARK CRYSTAL.

THE DARK CRYSTAL, unlike Beastmaster, Conan or even Highlander frankly, is that it still looks good. I think esteem for the Dark Crystal has even grown over the years. The puppets, the map of time, those are all made. The Dark Crystal by itself is a testament against CGI. Talk about they don’t make ‘em like that anymore…

i almost forgot the Neverending Story; perhaps one of the finest movies made in the 80′s or any other decade. im literally ashamed to have witnessed this list.

The fact that you tried to leave “Willow” out of the top 10 for 1980′s fantasy movies totally destroys any credibility you may have had and literally ruined the entire list. good job, douche. you were obviously born in the 90′s.

2. Labyrinth

1. Willow

2 and 1 are interchangeable, but under no circumstances does Princess Bride trump either Willow or Labyrinth. you’ve committed 80′s heresy by doing so. dont let me see you around these parts again. good day…

Sorry but Princess Bride is cheesy and i ‘ve never manage to understand its cult status . You forgot some masterpieces like ” neverending story”, “the dark cristal”,the dark Disney’s ” Taram and the black Cauldron “, “Fire and Ice”, Legend with the most beautiful Demon in the world,

I know I’m late to the comment party, but what about Return To Oz? That movie is awesome and the special effects have aged very well. I also agree that Legend and Willow should be here somewhere.

Great list. Some of my all time faves on here. Labyrinth i used to be able to qoute word for word..LOL But what about Legend. Tim Curry was amazing as Darkness.
