Great list! In fact I’ve been working off it for a while now to catch up on my noughties horror – a decade which, unfortunately, came to be defined by the likes of Eli Roth and Wes Craven re-making his own movies.

I’m glad to see [Rec] finally being given the credit it deserves too. Most horror movies just don’t scare me anymore but there was something about [Rec] that stuck with me for a long time after I watched it. The combination of the (relatively) plausible concept of a viral outbreak with elements of the occult was a stroke of genius. Also, one of the few horror movies that has a decent sequel. Good job!

Saw isn’t a scary movie just a gory type of movie and it shouldn’t be counted as horror. Yes. Some one is being tormented but it isn’t scary. Alittle suspensing and a lot of blood, and nothing else.

Although I do enjoy the good ol’ American slasher/thriller and am an American, I have to say most American horror movies DO suck. Best horror movies are usually foreign. Like A Tale of Two Sisters and I saw the devil which are Korean, or Los Ojos de Julia (Julia’s Eyes) a Spanish movie. These are way better than most of the films in this list and made in the 2000s

The Grudge is the farthest thing from scary. And the only reason i consider the mist a good horror movie is the way it ends. The monsters are so fake it’s funny.
I don’t understand why The Strangers didn’t make the list. That movie terrifies me when I just think about it.

I honestly cant understand how can some1 put Saw and FD into 2000s top 15 horrors over, for example, Darkness 2002. Ridiculous stuff…

Just learn what you can from the list and keep your ethnocentric racist comments to yourself. The United States, along with other countries, have all contributed outstanding horror films to the world so no need to turn this forrum into an anti-American bashing session. If people could be more tolerant, the world would be a better place.

I love horror movies, but The Mist????? NO NO! They butchered the book into that half bait movie! and the ‘twist’ at the end was not worth the wait. Otherwise, i like this list!
