Number ten is technically incorrect. No, there was no “official” religion in Europe. But people did have holidays for the passing seasons and solstices. And many older women practiced healing techniques,who were often called witches in the towns. Much of the base of the Wiccan beliefs are based off this nature worship. The more official parts are from Gardner.

Saying Jesus didn’t speak Hebrew is far from being accurate…
He lived and died as a faithfull Jew, and like any other Jew in that time, he spoke Aramic in his everyday life, however practicing the Jewish religion (prayer, reading the Torah etc.) was all done in Hebrew.

very interesting! and thanks for clearing the truth about number 10 and 6. For the Inquisition, there are many myths – the most common is the legend about Galileo, it was invented by renaissance folks (eppur si muove!) and few people know that Galileo was not killed but lived till his death under a domestic arrest at his friend’s villa.

Some points, (10, 6, and 2) were inaccurate.

There were in fact several Pagan religions worshipped by Celtic and Nordic peoples. Wicca, however, was probably just a modern adaptation or creation.

The myth about the Inquisitions.. plural, you tried to debunk, but unwittingly under exaggerated, was that MILLIONS were killed. First of all, there were multiple Inquisitions, the Spanish Inquisition was just the most notorious. Second of all, they did not document executions like they do today, so the few that were documented, are the ones you are referring to. Modern historical *****ysis, confirms that around 250,000 Jews, Heretics and Pagans were killed from the Spanish Inquisition alone, while the previous estimates were as high as 5 million…. that number was the myth.

About the Amazons, first of all, your source is questionable, second of all, it is generally well known that the Amazons cut off a breast, but this is debated, as Greek sources are not always standard nor reliable.

Okay, so let me get this straight … Cleopatra’s family had been rulers of Egypt for 300 years and she’s still considered GREEK? That’s like me still being called British because my ancestors came over to America 200 years ago. *rolls eyes* A majority of this list has fallacies in them, not going to waste time pointing out the obvious mistakes. Moving on to the next list.

About number 8: Cleopatra didn’t kill herself because she was saddened by the loss of her lover. Mark Antony (Marcus Antonius) had indeed been killed and he was her lover but she committed suicide because if she hadn’t, she would have been publicly humiliated and probably executed as well on the victory march in Rome that Octavianus (later Augustus) was planning.

Seriously whether someone believes in God/Jesus, Allah, Buddha, or has no religion at all because they don’t personally believe in any or because they just don’t like the whole having a religion business is their own business. From what you wrote i gather you don’t believe in any God and thats cool with me but honestly don’t try to push your beliefs on others…(yes i am a Christian, even though i have problems with some of the crap that they say and teach in church). My best friends are Muslim, Lutheran, Wiccan, Catholic, Agnostic, and there’s probably one or two who are Atheist. we’re friends becuase we respect each other even with our “religious” or non religious backgrounds. just keep being you and don’t let anyone change you if that is what you believe.
