Ottavio Bottecchia, the first Italian to win the Tour de France (1923-1924 editions) was found on 3 June 1927 by the roadside, mortally wounded, with several broken bones including his skull and collarbone. His death remains a mystery, but there were at least two deathbed confessions regarding it. These are all really cool, but I read somewhere that before she died, Sid Vicious´mother called a journalist and confessed that she was the person who gave her son his final overdose, which makes sense, it is known that she bought the drugs for him, maybe in a very twisted act of mercy she did that for him, in which case, this confession totally beats some of the ones you have there…

…the average concert violinist does not make enough money to buy a $4 million violin… to say that you should have taken up the violin over the kazoo is quite ridiculous. Josh Bell is one of the most famous living violin soloists. I think that it’s more unlikely to reach such a position than become a star NFL quarterback or something comparable requiring talent and training, and they no doubt earn much, much more. Josh Bell probably had to take out a lot of loans to afford that instrument.

Hi, I’ve been reading ListVerse for a while now, and never commenting.

I don’t really have anything informative to say regarding the list, other than very intresting and very consistent with the quality of pretty much every other list on here.

I must say, ListVerse has filled my head up with useless trivia that I get to fascinate my parents with on a daily basis!

Keep up the good work, you make the 6 weeks holidays less boring and more educational (sort of) than school.

Good article, I always like David Niven. But this one quote from the article – it makes it sound like an "elder" in the Mormon Church is a position of authority or something. It's not – everyone who has been on a mission for the Mormons is called an "elder", and these missions typically last two years. This item gives journalist Munn no additional credence over that of any Christian.

What about the connfesion from the builder who was swimming with Brian Jones (origional Stones lead guit) the Night he "drowned" ? Please make a second list this stuff is cool .
