However, I do believe that the name comes from the hour where the parents wanted their kids to be in bed and sleeping. I know, back in the day, my grand mother would tell me :”Si tu ne dors pas avant sept heures, le bonhomme sept heures va te manger!” Meaning, “If you’re not sleeping before seven o’clock the “bonhomme sept heures” is going to eat you!”
