Wow, I just watched #3 on the list... I know television had lower standards back then but that episode SUCKED!!! don't get me wrong, I love the twilight zone, n there are quite a few episodes that stand out as sci-fi classic but not this one. The small twist at the end does not justify sitting thru twenty minutes of an old woman VERY VERY slowly creeping thru an ill lit house. I there are plenty that could have made better #3's...

Eh. It's a good life was kind of lame imo and didn't really have that "omg" twist moment that a lot of the more famous episodes have. To serve man should definitely take it's place. That was a far better episode.

Walking Distance, which I just saw, is a MAGNIFICENT episode. But I'm divided on one moment near the end: The Sloane character is told by his father that he needn't look to the past, but can find childlike joys in his own life. Then the ice cream vendor tells him the merry go round was torn down, "too late" for him, which becomes a repeated mantra for Martin.

This potentially changes it from a wistful but positive outlook, and pushes it off the precipice into a defeated despair. I find that too depressing, and would like to think that our protagonist is going to learn to rediscover his childlike nature even with the burdens of adulthood.

Hi Brandon. I took your advice and just watched "A World Of Difference" on YOU TUBE in its entirety and that is also a great episode and Thank You for the recommendation. I look at it as a piece of surrealism and an example of "dispersonalization". At one time, I had on VHS 125 of the 156 episodes as I would faithfully record them off of the Sci-fi network (remember that Sci-Fi's Twilight Zone Marathon is coming up for New Years Eve and New Years Day). I recently went to my local Sam's Club and on DVD there is every single episode on a 5 DVD box-set for a whopping $150.00. If I ha d the money, I would not have thought twice about it. My favorite episode has always been "Living Doll" starring Telly Savalas (Kojak, but he has hair in this episode....LOL). Its all about a doll that seemingly comes to life and ends up killing him in the end. But its the way that the doll kill's him which is very ironic. Again, Thanks for the insight, and most of the episodes of the Twilight Zone can be found in its entirety on YOU TUBE.

How about the episode entitled "Living Doll" starrin Telly Savalas. He portrays a man who is too meticulous with his family finances. His wife and daughter go out shopping and they buy a doll with a "pull string" when the little girl pulls the string, the doll says "My name is Talky Tina and I love you very much" The character played by Savalas is upset with the purchase and shows his disdain for the doll. He picks it up, pulls the string and the doll says, "My name is Talky Tina and I don't think I like you". The more he shows his hatred for the doll, midway through the episode his telephone rings. He picks up the receiver and on the other end is the doll saying, "My name is Talky Tina, and I'm going to KILL you !! Of course he freaks out and tries to destroy the doll by wrapping it up and putting it in to the garbage can. Nope. He then tries to saw its head off with a table saw. Nope. Now the guy is scared and returns the doll to his daughter and finds some sense of relief. I will not give away the ending and I want you to see how it ends. The chills will run up and down your spine for hours to come. I think that it is the best episode of them all
