Excellent list. But you left out Billy Dixon’s nearly-one mile shot with a buffalo rifle in the 1870s. He and a couple of dozens others were beseiged for 3 days in northern Texas by hundreds of Comanche warriors. He made many great shots of hundreds of yards or more using only iron sights. The battle at Adobe Walls ended after he took a long shot at an Indian on horseback 9/10 mile away, hitting him in the chest and knocking him from his horse. A few months later, Dixon and five other men were surrounded at a buffalo wallow, fighting against much superior numbers of Indians. For this action he was awarded the Medal of Honor.

of course like your website but you need to take a look at the spelling on several of your posts. Several of them are rife with spelling issues and I find it very troublesome to tell the reality on the other hand I will certainly come again again.
