Hi all. This is a brief administrative note to let you know that I have returned from my time off and am back in full control of the site. My Christmas didn’t go quite as expected – it was downright awful in fact, but that is now in the past and we have the New Year to look forward to!
Just prior to going away I did an interview on CBC – one of Canada’s largest broadcasting networks. It was a thirty minute interview and it went very well. You can listen to the interview here – I am in part one. It is great for the site to be recognized by the mainstream media.
The Christmas competition is over and the prizes will begin to be sent out today. Congratulations to the winners! I was glad to see that my choices were generally regarded as good. There will be a slight delay on the five “book” prizes because Amazon is out of stock and I am still waiting for my box of books from the publisher, but they will eventually get sent out. The first three prizes are all available so they will be the first out.
I hope that everyone had a good Christmas and a happy New Year. We are not far from our third year of existence and this year will be our best I am sure!

WB Jfrater!
Hey dude – you’re amoung friends here (well 90% are friends at least, can’t please ‘em all).
Just listened to your radio show, thanks for the link. You have a thick accent – nice to hear you at last!
My Christmas’s is always rotten – my mother suffers from that old complaint – you know the one – paranoid delusion. She deludes herself about everything. Sometimes she just makes stuff up and then condemns others for not being in her Universe! Sad, but true.
Well a little Christmas story for those who might get some benefit therefrom.
Went back to Missouri to visit my Mom. While there, looked up a girl I’ve known since 9th grade (I’m 47). Not the first time I’ve seen her since high school — she’s a friend of my sister’s and so we’ve visited over the years during my infrequent returns home. But we’ve never dated.
Anyway, decided to ask her out this time around. Wham! Right after the first kiss, we fell into each other’s arms and started bawling like babies.
We’re talking the type of instant and total love of which the poets speak. (Told her I loved her about ten seconds after that kiss, which is a real no-no, but not when something this powerful is so undeniable.)
Asked her to marry me 48 hours later and she said yes.
@grubthrower (64): woohoo! Conga-rats, grubthrower!
Aww, sorry your holiday sucked. I hope your New Year is much better!
@grubthrower (64): Congratulations!
*sigh* I hope this is my year…I’ve been trying but no luck so far. Although I had a lovely weekend with a friend recently, which served to remind me that I am indeed desirable!
@grubthrower (64): Your story made my heart jump a little. (In the good way.)
Congratulations!!
Ah, LOVE.
It’s just all you need, isn’t it?
@sgcvelasco (48): At least you get to use the “I’m a noob” excuse, I did the same a couple months ago, after about a year and a half of posting here!
@grubthrower (64): Congratulations! I love a good love story!
welcome back jamie! you’ve been missed, greatly.
here’s to all things being better in this new year
