This list is laughable. District 9, Children of Men, Minority Report are movies that did a lot for sci-fi genre in the past decade and seeing D9 and CoM so low is just wrong. Moon also should be higher – and where is Sunshine???

FernGully was released in 1992 while the Avatar script was written in 1994.
Please get facts right if you wanna prove a point!
There are actually quite a few things that reminded me of FernGully while watching Avatar. I think the movies are alike, but it’s not going to be a ripoff unless you say so..
