Actually Canadians use a mixture of metric and the English imperial system. Especially the generation I am in. We prefer to use pounds for body weight but if you go to a store everything is in kilograms. New born babies are also weighed in pounds and ounces and measured in inches. I freely flip between centimeters, inches, kilometers, miles and so on.

An error I see is that you seem to believe that Scotland and ‘Britain’ are separate entities. Scotland is a country on the island of Great Britain, and Britain is the common name used to describe the United Kingdom. If you are giving Scotland special treatment then you might as well use Switzerland and England instead of Switzerland and Britain considering Crick was English (before being British, Scots are British as well).

The metric system isn’t Greek. The Celsius scale is Swedish, everything else is French/British.

i don’t know why some people still use the feet and yard, when it’s so easy to see that the metric system is so much more sensible

Also Panama in central america uses the english sistem for measuring.
