That actually sounds really promising, and sci-fi/fantasy isn’t even my preferred genre. I love how you’re mixing two huge trends right now: the dystopian uber-government and the whole magic thing. When I read about the demons taking over the government I thought it was an allegory for a second, even if that’s not what you intended. I really like this idea.That being said, I’m going to give a classic sci-fi/fantasy rule of thumb. Know your world, know its rules, and stick to them. Are the mages more powerful than the demons? Or less? What are some checks/balances that they possess? Can a mage shoot fire as easily as ice? How about diamonds? Can they conjure diamonds? Would that make the concept of an economy obsolete? Just general stuff like that. Other than that, I would change Chancellor, because that’s a little Star Wars-y. I ight change “Balance” to something cooler, like “Balance” in Sanskrit, or maybe some mage-y ancient word that translates to balance.Best of luck!

It’s been a while since I wrote this list but I assume that my reasoning had something to do with the huge impact “Bay of Blood” had internationally in terms of the American Slasher Film. I agree that “Blood and Black Lace” is a great giallo, but when it comes to it’s influence on Argento, I would argue that Argento did not really utilize the colored lighting and such until he deviated from the genre in favor of reworking gothic horror.

Great list but I think that “Blood and Black Lace” is far superior than “Bay of Blood” concerning Bava’s experimentation in lighting and color, the same technique that Argento used for most of his work.

I love watching gory, gross and scary movies every Saturday night when I were younger and I remember Death Walks on High Heels and Deep Red. I love watching romantic movies too!
