Thats like saying that since the French revolution, Napoleon, the first Spanish republic, the American revolution and what not killed millions and banned religions, therefore it is to be concluded democracy is bad. These weren’t crimes based on atheism, these were crimes promoted to spread ‘noble’ ideals. Does that make them bad? No, it makes the means to achieve them bad. Likewise, because a HANDFUL of Catholics commited atrocities in the name of religion doesn’t mean that religion is bad. There are Catholics who did good BECAUSE of their religion and yet we never see any of these big name atheistsmentioning the good, nor do they have the guts to say that since religion did good, thesefore, it is to be concluded religion is good.

A problem in religion though is that you may follow acertain path or guideline from a certain holy book that is bad and at the same time someone else will do a good deed based on the same words from the same book. It’s the ambiguity that frightens me here. Being a christian or an atheist doesn’t make you a bad person though. Bad people you find everywhere.

Although I’m continually sceptic towards religion I have toned down my scepticism in ways of who killed the most. I have more detailed and reasoned arguments against religion than that. Suffice to say. Bad people do bad things, good people do good things. They just happen to be people.

Seeing the evil some of this cult leaders are capable of doing, I am sure that they do not believe what they preach.

Eliminate religion and you would not stop wars. What you need to eliminate is blindly following orders. Faith is believing without proof. And Faith without thruth leads to destruction.
