This list is Sourced from the Encylopaedia Britannica, Wikipedia, Beliefnet, and Adherents.com (a collection of 43,870 adherent statistics and religious geography citations). The list is based on number of members. For a complete list (which also includes atheism and agnosticism, see the Wikipedia article or the Encylopaedia Britannica chart).

Top 10 Propaganda Videos

Published on July 30, 2007 - 50 Comments

Propaganda has been with us for a long time but it was not until the two wars that it became such a useful tool in control of the opinions of the people. This list shows ten of the best examples of propaganda available on the Internet including anti-porn, anti-homosexual, and anti-drugs.

1. Anti Pornography Propaganda

Produced by the Citizens for Decent Literature, this is an amusing propaganda film from 1965 entitled Perversion for Profit. It is presented by George Putnam - “Outstanding News Reporter”. It demonstrates certain photographs and points out that they appeal to “the sodomists” and others with “overtones of bestiality”.

Another 10 Bizarre Videos

Published on July 30, 2007 - 98 Comments

Because of the popularity of the top 10 bizarre videos post, I have put together a second list of bizarre videos. Warning: two of these videos contain images or sounds that may induce feelings of sickness (they are intended to). You have been warned - so on to the list!

1. An Homage to Antonin Artaud [Wikipedia | Encyclopaedia Britannica] - WARNING

Born in 1896 (died 1948), Artaud is one of the most unusual artists of the 20th century. He wrote poetry that was banned by the French government, assisted in some of the most bizarre films in history, and even wrote music. He had a small part in the film The Passion of Joan of Arc (hailed as the film with the most emotional performance ever captured on film by Maria Falconetti).

Published on July 28, 2007 - 66 Comments

This is the list of the 8 levels of scientology that one can attain after becoming free of unwanted influences of life (a clear). There are only eight published levels though there are a further seven levels that may or may not exist. These levels (called Operating Thetan Levels) are a closely guarded secret of the Scientologists but they have appeared on the internet for a number of years. So, if you have the money (and the inclination) this is what Scientology has to offer you.

Another 10 Unsolved Mysteries

Published on July 27, 2007 - 191 Comments

Due to the popularity of the first list of 10 unsolved mysteries, I have created a second list. In keeping with the controversial nature of the first item on the original list, item one here is probably going to be equally controversial, if not more so. I hope you enjoy the list!

Many thanks to the following Listverse readers who made suggestions for some of the items below: Jive, Kelsi, krunkisdead, dogmatic static, Bryan T, KG, and Purposely.
