Looking for some weekend viewing? This is a list of the weirdest films ever. I have restricted the list to one film per director and I have not included obviously weird films from the Dada movement. These are the sort of movies that leave you saying WTF as the credits roll. Ordered least to most weird. Torrent links included.
10. Me and You and Everyone we Know [Amazon| IMDB | Torrent | Trailer]
Director: Miranda July
‘Me and You and Everyone We Know’ is a poetic and penetrating observation of how people struggle to connect with one another in an isolating and contemporary world. Christine Jesperson is a lonely artist and “Eldercab” driver who uses her fantastical artistic visions to draw her aspirations and objects of desire closer to her. Richard Swersey (John Hawkes), a newly single shoe salesman and father of two boys, is prepared for amazing things to happen. But when he meets the captivating Christine, he panics. Life is not so oblique for Richard’s six-year-old Robby, who is having a risqué Internet romance with a stranger, and his fourteen-year-old brother Peter who becomes the guinea pig for neighborhood girls — practicing for their future of romance and marriage.
9. Donnie Darko [Amazon| IMDB | Torrent | Trailer]
Director: Richard Kelly
During the presidential election of 1988, a teenager named Donnie Darko sleepwalks out of his house one night, and sees a giant, demonic-looking rabbit named Frank, who tells him the world will end in 28 days, 6 hours, 42 minutes, and 12 seconds. He returns home the next morning to find that a jet engine has crashed through his bedroom. As he tries to figure out why he survived and tries to deal with people in his town, like the school bully, his conservative health teacher, and a self-help guru, Frank continues to turn up in Donnie’s mind, causing him to commit acts of vandalism and worse.
8. A Clockwork Orange [Amazon| IMDB | Torrent | Trailer]
Director: Stanley Kubrick
Stomping, whomping, stealing, singing, tap-dancing, violating, Derby-topped teddy-boy hooligan Alex (Malcolm McDowell) has his own way of having a good time. He has it at the tragic expense of others. Alex’s journey from amoral punk to brainwashed proper citizen forms the dynamic arc of Stanley Kubrick’s future-shook vision of Anthony Burgess’s novel. Unforgettable images, startling musical counterpoints, the fascinating language used by Alex and his pals – Kubrick shapes them into a shattering whole. Hugely controversial when first released, A Clockwork Orange won the New York Film Critics Best Picture and Director honors and earned four Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture. The power of its art is such that it still entices, shocks, and holds us in its grasp.
7. Delicatessen [Amazon| IMDB | Torrent | Trailer]
Director: Marc Caro, and Jean-Pierre Jeunet
The story is centered on a microcosm of a post-apocalyptic society where food is so rare it’s invaluable and is used as currency. The story centers on an apartment building with a delicatessen on the ground floor. The owner of the eatery also owns the apartment building and he is in need of a new maintenance man since the original “mysteriously” disappeared. A former clown applies for the job and the butcher’s intent is to have him work for a little while and then serve him to quirky tenants who pay the butcher in, of course, grain. The clown and butcher’s daughter fall in love and she tries to foil her father’s plans by contacting the “troglodytes”, a grain eating sub-group of society who live entirely underground. The “trogs” are possibly the most sensible of the lot, as they see food as food and not money. This movie reflects a type of science fiction called la Nouvelle Vague.
6. Pi [Amazon| IMDB | Torrent | Trailer]
Director: Darren Aronofsky
In Manhattan, behind six locks, lives Max Cohen, a mathematician and computer whiz. Since staring at the sun at age six, he’s had terrible headaches; plus, he can’t abide human contact except with an aging professor, and he’s obsessed with finding numeric patterns. His current obsession is the stock market; his theories bring him to the attention of Wall Street traders. He also keeps running into Lenny, a fast-talking Hasidic who fronts for a cabal that wants to rediscover long-lost mathematical mysteries in the Torah. Neither group is benign, and they pursue Max as his hallucinations and headaches worsen. Does nature offer any solutions? Can Max find them?
5. Mulholland Drive [Amazon| IMDB | Torrent | Trailer]
Director: David Lynch
A bright-eyed young actress travels to Hollywood, only to be ensnared in a dark conspiracy involving a woman who was nearly murdered, and now has amnesia because of a car crash. Eventually, both women are pulled into a psychotic illusion involving a dangerous blue box, a director named Adam Kesher, and the mysterious night club Silencio.
4. Drowning by Numbers [Amazon| IMDB | Torrent | Trailer]
Director: Peter Greenaway
Tired of her husband’s philanderous ways, the mother of two daughters drowns her husband. With the reluctant help of the local coroner, the murder is obscured. Her daughters are having similar problems with relationships, and tend to follow their mother’s example, and the coroner becomes reluctantly duplicitous. As the plot progresses, visual and spoken numbers appear in the scenes, counting from one to 100.
3. Naked Lunch [Amazon| IMDB | Torrent | Trailer]
Director: David Cronenberg
Exterminator Bill Lee finds himself following his wife into an addiction to the bug powder he uses. After accidentally killing her, he descends into a hallucinatory existence in which he imagines himself a secret agent answering to a series of bizarre creatures. He channels his energies into writing “reports” on his delusional mission, while trying to break his addiction. The story loosely reflects events in the life of author Burroughs as he wrote the novel.
2. The Idiots [Amazon| IMDB | Torrent | Trailer]
Director: Lars von Trier
A group of perfectly intelligent young people decide to react to society’s cult of an aimless, non-creative and non-responsible form of intelligence by living together in a community of “idiots”. Their main activity becomes going out into the world of “normal” people and pretending to be mentally retarded. They take advantage of this situation to create anarchy everywhere they go and try by every possible means to make people annoyed, disturbed, miserable, ridiculous, angered, and shocked. The films start as they recruit a new lost soul and introduced her to their megalomaniac leader.
1. Brazil [Amazon| IMDB | Torrent | Trailer]
Director: Terry Gilliam
In an Orwellian vision of the future, the populace are completely controlled by the state, but technology remains almost as it was in the 1970′s. Sam Lowry is a civil servant who one day spots a mistake in one of the pieces of paperwork passing through his office. The mistake leads to the arrest of an entirely innocent man, and although Lowry attempts to correct the error, it just gets bigger and bigger, sucking him in with it.
Notable others: Virtually every other film by David Lynch or David Cronenberg, eXistenZ, City of Lost Children, Requiem for a Dream, Repulsion, Memento, Begotten, Jacob’s Ladder, After Hours, Prospero’s Books, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
NOTE: The torrent links are provided for sampling; I strongly recommend you buy the DVDs of these movies as they are so great. Having said that, if anyone can provide me with a link to the torrent for Drowning by Numbers I would appreciate it.

Hi,you know what i think! I will repeat myself but this as to go true and we are talking about strange films arent we !!
All i want here is honesty and went i say that BEGOTTEN is
the weirdest experience anybody could wish if looking for
weird and very strange this is it.It,s well made ,it’s experimental and maybe not for every one. It,s art and at
some extent out of this world ,kind of dreamy like ,sound
wise it,s strange ,atmospheric it’s weird ,story wise deep
and profound ,it leaves a deep imprint in the psyche.
I personally think you will never forget this movie once
you view it,it stays in the mind for long…believe me it’s
very true…it’s surely the weirdest movie in here PERIOD!!
Allo ! It would be nice if someone would say if he or she saw
BEGOTTEN and share some point of view on it!and there is a festival of short film called NEW YORK UNDERGROUND FESTIVAL
that i saw and it’s well made and very ,very weird.Actually
some of the material in NYUF is some of the strangest stuff
i had a chance to put my hands on and believe me i have
studied and viewed a lots of film and some pretty rare .
Like this “NYFU” “BEGOTTEN” “BAD BOY BOBBY” “COME AND SEE”
these are just some exemple of what i think maybe rare stuff!GOOD LUCK and give me some feedback….
I think of something ! ERASERHEAD and TETSUO THE IRON MAN are
experimentalist movies and are a little look alike in the
style ,texture and dream like fantasy world …a little like
BEGOTTEN for exemple for the people who did not see it ,it
could be reference ….
rocky horror picture show should definitely have a place on this list… such a weird movie
Also they are some movies that are not considered or seen as
weird but they contain some weird stuff ,for exemple Oliver
Stone plays with the image to create a weird feeling ,you
got Quantin Tarantino who writes and create weird interactions and situations. All this at some extent is
to create a weird feeling or weird situation,it’s to take you
out of context . They want to bring you in they’re universe
of creation and fantasy and sometimes it is a weird context.
For exemple in AMERICAN BEAUTY you have this weird
neighbor who see’s life very differently in filming dead things and flying kleenex ,in CRASH you have these people
all connected and all interacting with each other and not knowing it,SIN CITY was kind of weird for the atmospheric
environment as far as im concern FIGHT CLUB was kind of weird
for this crasy ,skizophrenic guy to be hallucinating all
this movie ,in SEVEN the plot and reversal are weird to me,as
a matter of fact the credit start of the movie (SEVEN) is
weird and you know right from the beginning your in for
something special and this could go on and on ,just finding
weird scenes in movies is nt that hard…umm before i forget
i wanted to mention two very weird movies ,SHEITAN witch is
french and AFTERMATH GENESIS witch is three weird story’s …
ohh and they’re is 3 EXTRERME that deserve a place in the
weird category it’s a japanese movie …***
I think Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas is pretty weird!
hi ! if someone saw some of the movies that i put up there,
give me your thoughts on what you think ,how weird some of them are and maybe what you actually consider weird…
If someone saw BEGOTTEN , BAD BOY BUBBY , SHEITAN ,
AFTERMATH GENESIS , 3 EXTREME , TETSUO THE IRON MAN ,
COME AND SEE or the NEW YORK UNDERGROUND FESTIVAL…
(give me some feedback)***
SyLvAiN.
I agree with anyone who said Eraserhead or Tetuso the Iron Man. Two of the strangest movies that I’ve ever seen. Speaking of Tetsuo, Akira could have easily made this list, but maybe animated films don’t count…
Being John Malkovich should have been on the list or at least be mentioned since ESotSM was, too.
Good list, though. I especially love Mulhdolland Drive.
Tommy! It’s the weirdest f…ing movie I’ve ever seen.
The Wall
Barton Fink
Rocky Horror Picture Show
Eraserhead
Being John Malkovich
So i guest nobody saw BEGOTTEN ,it’s not that rare it’s possible to find it somewhere ,maybe on internet ,BAD BOY BUBBY is not so hard to find and COME AND SEE too ,these
are quite excellent choices for viewing weird and quality
movies .Me when i want to watch a movie i personally go for
the quality .Some movies are quite cheap and amateurish…
no,no,no i dont like cheap movies and cheap props ,accesory,
filming equipment al these are to me what will turn me on.
Good quality is important and a little budget helps !!
Oh by the way there is this not so bad film i saw yesterday
called INSIDE ,( DE L’INTERIEUR ) in french and it’s made in
french and english version. The story is good and the ending
awesome .It,s my kind of movie ,it’s a very weird and violent
movie.
ps:give me some feedback on BEGOTTEN,BAD BOY BUBBY or COME AND SEE…
SyLvAiN*****
Gummo beats all. Forever.
I actually think that GUMMO is weird but all in all for me
it’s BEGOTTEN that wins the palm of weirdest most mesmerizing
picture ever done in this world ,period !!!
I am still waiting for someone to have her or his personal
comment on the movie suggested up there called BEGOTTEN…
Is this movie so rare that it’s not possible to find…
specially on the internet data ,with the biggest bank of movie ever assembled in electronics (computer & internet).
There is some store that can get it ,and i think some
video club actually carry’s a copy ,i think someone ,somewhere knows something about this movie..???
begotten is right here:
http://listverse.com/bizarre/10-more-bizarre-videos/
I had to stop watching it. I’ll try again one day.
And what do you think of it my friend RUSHFAN …do you think
it’s weird especially if you see all the film ,but what did you think of what you saw ? tell me your comment when you can
thank yoou….
it’s f’d up, sylvain. it starts out building an eerie creepy feeling in your stomach. you anticipate what’s gonna happen, especially after you read the description given about god and the razor. what’s weird is i love ***** like this, but something biologically *happened* to me after i gave birth. stuff affects me differently now. i still try to watch or look at the same stuff (movies, pictures) but i’m just affected by them now. i know, TMI, right? you just wanted a review of the movie.
have u watched it yet??
yes!and i liked it a lot!and before that i watched eraserhead
witch is my first weird movie i watched…in 82,a«fter that i
knew i was in my element and sought after those kind of deep,
dream like movies.I love tetsuo the iron man, david cronenberg
and many many more witch i named up there in other comments i
did but i’m still searching for this kind of movie ,i’m open
minded to all kinds of movies and i alway’s give a movie a
chance to see if it hooks me but i personally know that there
is a kind movie that gets me hook in a deeper sense ,day dreamer movies ,very expressive experimental films of all
kinds …i go to fantasia festival in montreal and there is a
weird theater downtown montreal called cinema du parc and they show all kinds of weird underground films and even sometimes they show old classics weird movies like eraserhead
and many more…. s..
thanks for the link of begotten…when i said that this film
was rare and hard to find it was for the other people looking
for a weird experience ,as for me i watched it a long time
ago ,i own a copy of it but i’m happy that you showed me
that link because it has interesting stuff that i never saw
before …and i know that you like that stuff to…did you
see some of the movies i named up there like bad boy bubby ,
come and see..etc..etc..tell me ..do you think when experiencing a movie we have our own perceptive eye and by
that our mind is individually changing our the point of view
of what we perceive with our own intentions and mood and even
go as far as time and space like quantum effect perception???
sylvain, do you sound like George St. Pierre?
I bet you do.
mulholland drive and delicatessen are 2 of my favorite films!
i seem to be drawn to surreal and unusual cinema but theres a lot more to mulholland drive than what’s been written as the blurb for it! it’s more psychological, it’s about how we cope with emotions and awful things that have happened and things we regret. the first half is the desired life one of the characters want compared to the second half which reveals what really happened. the amazing thing about the film is that the first half gives the audience clues as to the fact that it’s not real and i think part of you realises that but like the main character you don’t want to believe it’s not true because it’s such a strange and sweet story at first. there are lines such as “now im in this dream place” and “we can pretend to be someone else” then lines which are used in both halves which correspond to eachother such as “this is the girl”, along with images and objects. I had to watch it 5 times in order to suss out what was going on but every single time i realised something else about it which, i think, hardly any other films do! sorry if ive spoiled it but i wish someone had explained the fact that it’s a film you personify with first so that i didnt get so confused when i saw ir for the firat time. If you enjoyed it i recommend Inland Empire and Eraserhead, both also directed by David Lynch.
Delicatessen was pretty fantastic too. It’s set in a non existant time and gives you a lot to think about, and like A clockwork orange it maybe has an image of the future…
Donnie Darko isnt that wierd though, i thought it was easy to follow and sorry but it’s a little over rated!
Blood Simple should be on here, you can understand it but the camera use and atmosphere is very eerie ans wierd!!
what do you mean ? I met george ST-pierre a few years ago at
bar champs on st-laurent downtown montreal ,that time he was
fighting in ucc ,he won a fight with a very bad referee
that stopped the fight because george said that the other
guy wanted out(ivan mangivar)is the other guy…and george
won that stupid fight .He was training with his two good
friends (stephane potvin & christophe midoux) …these two
guy’s are strong and very aggresive ,i am pretty sure these
two guy’s beat up and built up george st-pierre…george is
a good kid ,he loves his mom ,he’s very natural and authentic
,he’s accessible and smiling all the time…he is a very
representative champion!!!he deserves everything that’s
going to happen to him ,he works very very hard for this!!!
I know that for facts …trust me….sylvain!
I mean, do you have a french canadian accent? You’re in Canada aren’t you? Your frantic style of typing made me imaging you sounding just like GSP.
I’m actually a big GSP fan. He rocks those little tight shorty shorts.
I actually am french canadien from montreal and i have kind
of the same accent ,in montreal french people that speak
the english ,we have an accent, not every body but a lot of
them…are you a boy or a girl ???
Montreal is such a fun and friendly place it is
unbeleiveble!! there is alway’s festivals of jazz ,funny ,
degustation of beer ,food ,film festival of all kinds and
many many more ,only in summer time …
Great list! I have seen most of these. I have also seen a lot of the commenters suggestions. What about “The Audition”? Really creepy. I recommend, with warnings.
i love korean and japanese movies ,the style they use and
the story,s are quite perfectionist and clean pictures and
to see new actors for a change is not so bad at all ,considering that all we see is american made….pfff..
Audition is a good exemple of what i mean about clean picture …i have seen many asian movies in the last 5 years
and i can personally say that there was some very original,
well directed ,out of context ,good movies…i can say that
audition is a good movie and i have a few titles that i really like ..to name a few :3 extremes ,oldboy ,battle royale ,sympathy for mr.vengeance ,ichi the killer ,the eye
(japanese version) ,suicide club ,cure ,wishing stairs ,
izo (it’s a weird movie) ,ringu ,infection ,h ,lady vegeance,
a tale of two sisters ,memento mori ,wispering corridors and
many many more ….but these are just a few that i have seen
last years ad they are good !oohh before i leave i want to
suggest three good movies called ILS (them) ,SMALL GAUGE TRAUMA and KONTROL witch is a romanian movie …ok bye!…..
Sylvain ~ I’m a chic. I was disappointed with The Audition, saw it some time ago. I expected better. I’ve heard Ichi the Killer is awesome. I’ve been trying to find it.
hi..! rushfan …i can actually tell you that ichi the killer
is good but there is a few movies that needs to be seen …
like :battle royal ,3 extremes ,oldboy and sympathy for mr.
vengeance ….the four movies i just named are essencial
viewing…!! i mean really ,these movies are different and
very well made …artistically ..!!
So give me some feedback…. . sylvain.
Will do. Thanks for all the suggestions, I can tell you know of what you speak.
Did you watch the Ultimate Fighter finale last night? There were a buncha fights and they were pretty much all lame, almost all went to decision. But the big news was that Anderson Silva is going up to 205 to fight which is f’ing awesome. He’s gonna end up with two belts!!
I have seen anderson silva before at 205 in japan and he is
not so strong …he’s going to get knock the f$%&k out ..!!
I think guy’s to watch in comming champions are roger huerta in the light weight rodrigo minotauro nogiera and
no doupt bj penn ….bj is in one hell of a roll now..!!!
Minotauro is a heivyweight and so much experience …
it’s unbeleiveble …wow !!! this year is going to be great…and were all going to witness that..!! COOL>..
WOW! the comments are almost more educational than the list itself!! not to mention long lasting! i have to say, in my own opinion, the two weirdest movies i think i’ve seen are “Magnolia” which is really freaking wierd, and “The Cell” which was more disturbing than weird. i know you guys have alot of Japanese listings up, but thats not my genre.
joebecca ~ Yup, The Cell was very cool. No one ever talks about it, but Vincent D’Onofrio was awesome! Your name reminds me of when Rebecca Romijn was on Carpoolers and her name was Joannifer. I laughed for, *****, I’m still laughing.
Sylvain ~ I think Anderson Silva must have gotten better since then, because his strenght in the clinch is so impressive, I don’t know. We’ll see. BJ Penn was overrated when he made him “comeback” but I guess the more he gets back into training he’s getting back into “prodigy” shape. Did you see his protege get his ass knocked the f*&^ out?? Kendall Grove? That ***** is almost 7 feet tall, all knees and elbows.
You no what ..!! MAGNOLIA and VANILLA SKY are two of my best movies .!!! seriously ! I think that Tom Cuise made me love his acting so much for those two movies i mentioned …!!
Not to forget Brad Pit in three other movies i truly love:
12 MONKEY’S ,SEVEN and finally one of my favorite FIGHT CLUB.
By the way rushfan do you no MMALinker.com and MMAVlog.com
These sites are really filled with new fights every day’s..
There is YOUCA.com and WAT.com witch as a lots of fights ..
On mmalinker there is some fights that are linked to other
site jam packed full of never before seen fights …wow..!!
I love internet …******
kendall Grove got beat the f&%$k up by Jorge rivera ……
. . in UFC 80 …!!! I personally think jorge rivera will be
champion one day because of his resumé in the past…he lost a couple of fight …but instead of stopping every thing he
got his trainning seriously and persistance made him come back and he won …!!!some people get better after loosing..
and some others quit..!!! he really got better …agressive,
more tecnical and better attitude…like BJ PENN …the perfect exemple of loosing and cumming STRONGER THEN EVER..!!
Has anyone seen “Teeth”?
any movie where a virginal-spokeswoman finds out that living next to a powerplant resulted in her vagina formed teeth through mutation is pretty strange
Hmmmm. I see nobody has mentioned A Boy and His Dog, The Serpent and the Rainbow, or The Re-Animator…
re-animator was a good movie to me but i personally dont think it’s a weird movie…!the serpent and the rainbow is a
pretty good movie but again i dont see it as weird at all..!
a boy and is dog ??? i dont know this one…!!
you should look at the link up there for BEGOTTEN…
NOW THAT IS A VERY VERY VERY WEIRD FILM………….!
Try to see this film (BEGOTTEN) in one shot,i mean
all the freakin film,i tell you it is a freakin experience
my friend….!!!
http://thepiratebay.org/tor/4219473/Drowning_By_Numbers
Hope you will be able to download it!
A lot more movies could be added to this list:
That obscure object of desire
The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie
12 Monkeys
Short Movies of Brother Quay
The Golden Age (Partially based on Marquis De Sade’s 120 Days of Sodom)
Visitor Q
Itchi The Killer
The Trial (based on Kafka’s Novel)
El Topo
Fando and Lis
Santa Sangre
Persona
Face To Face
Most of the movies by Alexandro Jodorowsky, Luis Bunuel, Takshi Miike, David Lynch, David Cronenberg anf Terry Gilliam would qualify for this list. There are a lot others in this category at the moment I cannot remember of.
Love the list…dont know y this is the first time I decided to comment though. I found Lost HIghway to be much weirder than Mullholand Dr. And this list is missing some true gems: Gummo, Nowhere (or Doom Generation..both are really weird), Happiness of the Katakuris (a CRAZY japanese film that includes killing and musical interludes), Altered States… and many many more that I just cant think of now
Nice list! I’ve only seen Donnie Darko and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless mind, but I loved those two movies and now I have plenty of suggestions!
Another really wierd one is the Big Lebowski. I was confused during a big part of that movie.
I just saw a very weird movie called NAILZ ..it is the story
of a assassin that have migraines, big headaches,so to stop
his headaches he found a trick..he hammers nails in is skull!
The holes in is head makes the headache go away…
The story is a little kaotic but it is weird because of the montage ,all the weird colors used in the film.
It’s a russian film and it is written, produced an directed by ANDREY ISKANOV . It looks like MR.ISKANOV was on
somekind of hallucigenic drug when he did this very weird
movie , maybe acid ..!! This movie is very different from what we usually see,he did another movie called VISION OF SUFFERING . I personally did not see the second film but i saw and it looks as weird as NAILZ .THere was another trailer
that looked very weird and it’s called RUBBER’S LOVER…!!!
the
mulholland dr. and a clockwork orange are two of my favorites. great list here! and the comments with suggestions of other weird films are really helpful as i would like to watch more of this kind.
I just watched one of the weirdest film ever ..!! called,
“FRANZ KAFKA’S IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE” i will admit that i smoked a little joint before…but it does not change the fact that it is a very weird and special film.
It’s a four short story dvd ,about 20 min. each aprox..
and the first story is a writter named kafka who is stumbling over how to complete the first sentence of what was to be his masterpiece …metamorphosis. Kafka is constantly being interrupted by a knife-selling stranger…
This movie is a masterpiece and it is such a great movie
in weird interactions and out of context situations that i have never seen a movie like that in my life..this is THE WEIRDEST WATCHABLE MOVIE IN HERE…NO DOUPTS!!!!
You should try to rent or find a copy of this wondeful film ….thrust me YOU WONT REGRET IT!!!THAT’S A PROMESS.!!
This movie should be viewed by every single person reading
this…now! I am not exagerating .
THis movie was made in 1993 by PETER CAPALDI and released
in 1995,it won a lots of prices and academy award tm winner!
official selection-sundance film festival!!
That’s it …you got a little review from me but not much..
just whatch it and give me some feedback on it …!
i just found another pretty weird one called “Fido”
possibly the weirdest take on a zombie movie i have ever seen…
Salo 120 Days of Sodom Passolini A film I will not watch again
Aguire The Wrath of God Herzog
Eraserhead Lynch A film I will not attempt to watch again
Last Year at Marienbad
Orphee Cocteau
Three Weird Tales? with Karen Black
When i said watchable movie in my previous comment ,i meant
a movie that is not to boring…the story sometimes is good
but the acting is so bad that uummm…you know .!!
Sometimes the director has such good intention and enthusiasm but it’s such a big project and some missing
elements that it is almost impossible to do!!!
Some movies got a lot of potencial (like the script)
but again you need more than intentions and enthusiasm ,
creativity is good but i think not enought.
I think a project that will gain immediate cult status
and be a favorite needs all the elements named above and
a lots of uuummmmmmm…………..FAITH!
I think it’s a great teams work , all the sincro is there and everythink like falls into places ….thats weird!!
What about Southland Tales or Altered States or Sublime?
There is also Something Wicked This Way Comes and Watcher in the Woods, those were strange.
Also worth mentioning – Lady in the Water, I liked the movie, but it was strange.
Pink Flamingos. More weird than John Waters other projects, simply because of the theme “filthiness”. At least abstract films come into being to express some complex idea, but why on earth would someone make a film like Pink Flamingos?
Fernbracken: I didn’t think Last Year at Marienbad was a weird film, just nouveau.
i dont know but i saw altered state a long time ago and to
tell you the truth, it does not make much sense ..story wise!
The main character in this movie is studying a hallucigenic
drug he tried in south america ,he becomes more and more
out of control in using the magic drug …he even becomes an
homosapien (halfanimal, halfhuman)and he goes bezerk on the
street at night ,he goes in a zoo and he kill a deer and
he eat parts of it ….how does it makes sense that he
becomes more devolutionalised after using a drug ???
Nothing spiritual here !!! just anima druga hallucina …
Anyway’s i guest i should view it again ,since i dont really remember much of it !
ps: please tell me if you know that movie makes sense ??
Add the movie May.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/May_(film)
Aguirre, The Wrath of God rockzz…Klaus Kinski rockz…Werner Herzog rockz

Evil Dead II
Princess Mononoke
Dead Man
I’m Not There
La Jetee
Weekend
Those Who Love Me Can Take The Train

The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie
Am I the only person who thinks Being John Malkovich was crazy as hell? That was one of the wierdest & pointless movies that i’ve ever seen.
geez, i’m proud of myself… i’ve seen 9 of these movies, and loved all of them, only need to see number 10 to consider myself a really trully weird guy.
