Top 15 Bathroom Scenes in Movies
Published on December 14, 2007 - 68 Comments
[WARNING: This list contains video clips that may offend some readers] The bathroom is a room not seen too often in movies - but when it is it is often for great humor or great tragedy. This mixed list is of the top 10 bathroom scenes in movies.
15. Austin Powers
No list is complete without Austin.
14. The Sweetest Thing
Glory holes and poetry.
13. Deuce Bigalow Male Gigolo
[WARNING: This clip contains obscene language] Unfortunately I could not find the actual scene from this movie. In this film, Deuce is called on to save a fish from a toilet. As he is plunging, sounds of a sexual nature begin to come through the wall. Deuce matches the tempo with the plunger to prevent the little boy who owns the fish from hearing it. At the “right moment”, a piece of feces flies out of the toilet and lands in the fish bowl. As I couldn’t find the scene on youtube, I have included the famous “Tourette Syndrome” scene - hilarious. For another toilet scene, this time from Deuce Bigalow European gigalo, you can view this clip on youtube.
12. Dumb and Dumber
Simply put - ex lax and a broken toilet.
11. White Chicks
This is what happens when a lactose intolerant person eats quiche.
10. Something About Mary
In this interesting scene we see Ben Stiller “preparing” himself for a date. Unfortunately the clip is in Italian, but you don’t need to understand the language to understand the humor.
9. Royal Tenenbaums
[WARNING: This clip contains disturbing images of suicide] We have seen this one on the site before - a very disturbing yet beautiful scene.
8. Rules of Attraction
[WARNING: This clip contains disturbing images of suicide] More disturbing than the last - I will never hear this song in the same light again.
7. Pulp Fiction
The end of Vincent.
6. Something About Mary II
I know it is another one from this film - but I had to include this scene. Sorry for the sound quality.
5. Naked Gun
In this scene, Leslie Nielson uses the toilet - forgetting he is wearing a microphone which is broadcasting every sound to a hall full of people gathered to honor the Queen of England.
4. American History X
An emotional scene from a great movie.
3. Psycho
The most famous shower scene in history.
2. Full Metal Jacket
An amazing scene - contains violence.
1. Trainspotting
I am guessing that most people would be expecting to see this one on the list. It definitely has to take position 1.
Notable Omissions: Eyes Wide Shut

Trainspotting!! That scene is great, I love it when he screams under water,” I F***in got it!”…classic.
2. Lyrebyrd - December 14th, 2007 at 11:23 am
Ah, but there is one true classic that was left off - Fast Times at Ridgemont High. Judge Reinhold letting his, er, imagination run wild about Phoebe Cates exiting the pool, only to have her walk in on him. Brilliant!
3. mklong - December 14th, 2007 at 11:26 am
or in austin powers when austin is attack by the irish guy in the stall
4. Genericpawel - December 14th, 2007 at 11:28 am

7. Juggz - December 14th, 2007 at 11:57 am
I have been waiting for a lits with Trainspotting on it, one of my all time favorite movies and i still cringe at the bathroom scene. Maybe we can also do a top 10 disgusting breakfast scenes where it can be number 1 as well.
Now can we get a list with Equilibrium in it?
8. jesse - December 14th, 2007 at 12:05 pm

9. evan - December 14th, 2007 at 12:07 pm
oh man, a great one was missed, The Big Lebowski…
WHERES THE MONEY LEBOWSKI!?! WHERES THE MONEY?! WHERES THE MONEY SH@#HEAD!?!
a few moments later, the thug picks up a bowling ball…
“What the F*&k is this?”
The Dudes response “Obviously your’re not a golfer”
and the china man pee’s on his rug, the f*&king rug, it really tied the room together…
lol oh man i love that movie, especially that opening scene
10. jfrater - December 14th, 2007 at 12:22 pm
Juggz: the number 1 worst breakfast scene from trainspotting isn’t that one - it is the REAL breakfast scene from the movie where the boy poos in the bed and it ends up over the whole family when they mother pulls the sheets from his hands! That movie is just outstanding in every way.
So - it seems that I might have a few I could have added - tell me what should be on the list and give me a youtube link and I will extend it to top 15
11. Juggz - December 14th, 2007 at 12:30 pm
jamie: thats the one i was referring to only after i clicked did i realize i didnt specify
12. Rob - December 14th, 2007 at 12:31 pm
Full Metal Jacket deserves a mention.
13. Amy - December 14th, 2007 at 12:36 pm
American History X had a pretty disturbing bathroom scene.
14. Amy - December 14th, 2007 at 12:37 pm
American History X actually had 2 disturbing br scenes. (the rape scene and the murder scene in the school)
15. jfrater - December 14th, 2007 at 12:50 pm
Amy - I can’t believe I forgot that! It is one of my favorite movies!
16. jfrater - December 14th, 2007 at 12:56 pm
Rob: yes - embarrassed for forgetting it!
17. Amy - December 14th, 2007 at 12:57 pm
I just watched it last night…it was on FX. It’s still pretty fresh in my memory.
So sad.
18. gr8flddfn - December 14th, 2007 at 1:01 pm

19. evan - December 14th, 2007 at 1:04 pm
if memory serves, its luke wilson, not owen
20. Black Lutefisk - December 14th, 2007 at 1:06 pm
JFrater: No access to Youtube, but Lebowski and Austin Powers’ scenes (single best thing Tom Arnold ever did) should be in the update.
21. evan - December 14th, 2007 at 1:07 pm
how bout a courteously flush there pal
22. RobS - December 14th, 2007 at 1:15 pm
What about the shower scene in Psycho?
23. Shaboinka86 - December 14th, 2007 at 1:17 pm
How about Porky’s? That scene is hilarious!
24. Blogball - December 14th, 2007 at 1:28 pm
I posted a link for the Austin Powers Scene above.
25. Dawn Bearer - December 14th, 2007 at 1:28 pm
How about Psycho’s shower seen ? I shocked it’s not in the list ! It should be 1
26. JOE ROSSON - December 14th, 2007 at 1:32 pm
I like the bathroom scene from Fear and Loathing were Dr Gonzo was bathing with a head full of acid and a tub of grapefruit rinds in some lovely dark water.I think I even heard a tub thump.
27. DiscHuker - December 14th, 2007 at 1:38 pm
what is with the testicular cancer commercial at the end of the something about mary II scene? didn’t need to see that image
ahhhh, big lebowski. amazing. i’m a little lebowski urban achiever.
28. JOE ROSSON - December 14th, 2007 at 1:47 pm
Another bathroom scene that stuck in my head is from Desperado, there was a secret room that they had to get to from the bathroom, and the stall that was the entrance to the room was smeared with shit and the toilet was overflowing. Great way of discouraging any intruders.
29. Emily - December 14th, 2007 at 1:57 pm
evan - i just saw the big lebowski for the first time the other night. i loved it!!
30. SocialButterfly - December 14th, 2007 at 2:03 pm
There is also a scene in “The Sweetest Thing” with Cameron Diaz and Christina Applegate that is soo funny…

31. jfrater - December 14th, 2007 at 2:29 pm
Okay - fixed - and now the top 15
Thanks for pointing out my obvious misses.
32. jfrater - December 14th, 2007 at 2:32 pm
Emily: if you loved that - try Fargo - brilliant and hilarious - and starring one of the most amazing and wonderful actresses of all time: Frances McDormand - incredibly beautiful and incredibly talented!
33. Jim - December 14th, 2007 at 2:33 pm
You left out 2001, and The Shining!
34. jfrater - December 14th, 2007 at 2:47 pm
Argh! Jim - you are right - is this going to be a top 20 by the end of the night?
35. Megatron - December 14th, 2007 at 3:10 pm
Definitely should have Full Metal Jacket, Porky’s, and Fast Times at Ridgemont High - all of those are classics. Not Another Teen Movie and Harold & Kumar both had funny bathroom scenes dealing with hot girls going # 2. Deuce Bigelow, Sweetest Thing, and White Chicks should NOT be on this list because those movies are horrendous.
36. evan - December 14th, 2007 at 3:15 pm
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v.....re=related

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v6yV3wozEs8
37. DiscHuker - December 14th, 2007 at 3:40 pm
i commend you for trying to add some obvious omissions, but you still have one left off that has been mentioned…the big lebowski.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ow3xtbQddNQ
the appropriate part begins at about 3:15
38. t_man - December 14th, 2007 at 4:20 pm
#1 was kinda funny (in a gross, toilet diving sorta way) And it was a fitting end to a good list.
39. Cairo - December 14th, 2007 at 5:05 pm
How could you not put the bathroom fight from “The Warriors”?
http://youtube.com/watch?v=ISkLxfAOTo8
40. InfiniteJorge - December 14th, 2007 at 5:30 pm
Aww shoot, the scene from Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle isn’t in here!
41. InfiniteJorge - December 14th, 2007 at 7:40 pm

42. Yikkity - December 14th, 2007 at 8:02 pm
You forgot Scarface!
43. InconsistentAngelThings - December 14th, 2007 at 8:12 pm
Um, i don’t know if this is really a good one, but the FIRST movie i thought of was, i think it was in Ace Ventura, Jim Carey…
“do NOOT go in there”
Not my favorite movie, but i know a lotta people liked it and quoted it for years after
44. Yikkity - December 14th, 2007 at 8:14 pm
You forgot Scarface! Cool bathroom scene with the Columbians.
45. Diogenes - December 14th, 2007 at 8:14 pm
You know it’s funny Yikkity, because i think the saying ‘You forgot Scarface’ will ultimately create ‘a little star’, perhaps, in the universe of lists and enter-web verse of early birth inhabitants…((((what that means may be a little bit of stretching out something more simple)))
Copy-write that quote/saying now…in that, only you can say it and all else must pay a fee. ($$$)
I think John Waters, who also makes photos of movies-as art, has a series of celebs peeing (in films).
46. AndyB123 - December 14th, 2007 at 10:27 pm
How about the bathroom scene from The Party, with Peter Sellers ? Totally idiotic, and it goes on and on and on.
47. Elle Rayne - December 14th, 2007 at 11:28 pm
I would put the end scene of “Fatal Attraction” on that, or Michelle Pfeiffer’s encounter with her deranged husband in “What Lies Beneath.” And ditto on Jack Nicholson’s encounter with the corpse in “The Shining.”
48. phubbie - December 14th, 2007 at 11:36 pm
AndyB123: How about the bathroom scene from The Party, with Peter Sellers ? Totally idiotic, and it goes on and on and on.
I must agree with you there. That scene and movie are fantastic.
Peter Sellers, I LOVE YOU
49. jbjr - December 15th, 2007 at 3:29 am
Lethal Weapon. Danny Glover on the pot with a bomb attached.
Also: Four Brothers.
Never knew what the point was for the bro’s in 4 brothers talking business in the john. Director John Singleton said the scene took all day to shoot!
50. Hitesh Patel - December 15th, 2007 at 5:51 am
You forgot SCARFACE.
51. dvhann - December 15th, 2007 at 11:35 am
trainspotting=classic
52. Robert - December 15th, 2007 at 12:31 pm
How could you leave out battle-shitz from Harold & Kumar go to White Castle? That should have been #1 by far!!
53. Robert - December 15th, 2007 at 12:32 pm
Battle shits from H&K - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QK_JTfHGuck
54. AndyB123 - December 15th, 2007 at 6:43 pm
phubbie: Yeah, I saw it a while ago, and it still makes me laugh. To think that Sellers love interest gunned down Spider Sabich 8 years later, for no apparent reason.
Here are some more scenes -
Copycat. Two scenes.
The Unforgiven. not strictly a “bathroom”, but close enough.
Two movies with Harrison Ford -
Witness, and Frantic.
Dressed to kill, with a sultry Angie Dickinson.
Dog Soldiers, when they run from the werewolves.
Dreamcatcher.
LA Confidential.
55. Kelsi - December 15th, 2007 at 7:08 pm
FINALLY A CLIP FROM TRAINSPOTTING!!
YESSS!
But uh, yeah, interesting mix of really funny and really disturbing.
56. Dandelion - December 16th, 2007 at 4:10 am
I loved that scene from Royal Tenenbaums.
57. Paco - December 17th, 2007 at 4:26 pm
What about “Weird Science”!
58. rod - December 21st, 2007 at 2:23 am
aww, it’s so true! how could you leave out Lebowski? that scene at the beginning of the movie was classic.
59. ffej - December 25th, 2007 at 1:46 pm

60. livvya - January 6th, 2008 at 8:15 am
THE shining should be in there, really.
61. luckyaz - January 10th, 2008 at 2:31 am

64. panchen - March 23rd, 2008 at 9:47 am
surely the No.2 position is the one of prestige in this list?
65. Simons - March 25th, 2008 at 12:45 pm
Dude, the Liar Liar Bathroom scene with Jim Carrey. “I’m kicking my ASS DO YA MIND!?”
66. EXE - April 6th, 2008 at 4:16 pm
What about “The Godfather” scene where he gets the gun? There was so much suspense there.
Or the scene from The Ring Two where Rachel is bathing Aiden and he turns into Samara and the water goes to the ceiling and everything gets screwed up?
67. kerrick - April 15th, 2008 at 12:33 am
Right on, this list contained 3 of my all time favorite movies, Full Metal Jacket, American History X, and Pulp Fiction.
I’ve never seen The Royal Tenenbaums(it looked incredibly stupid to me), Rules of Attraction, or Psycho. Maybe I should check those out sometime….
Interesting list though.
