The terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, on New York City, Washington DC, and Shenksville, Pennsylvania, need no introduction. Over 3,000 people lost their lives that day, either on the four hijacked planes, or on the ground and in buildings. I recently wrote a Listverse list on “Ten People Who Did Not Board the Titanic”. Some comments on that list asked for a list of people who narrowly avoided death on September 11, 2001, just as those lucky few did not board the Titanic on her ill-fated maiden voyage, in April 1912. I decided that would be an excellent follow-up list to the Titanic list, and set out straight away to start research on writing it. I was amazed just how many stories there are of people who, for what ever reason, narrowly missed being at the World Trade Center buildings, at the Pentagon, or on one of those four flights. I was even more amazed to find stories relating to celebrities and famous people (some more famous than others) who were in the right place at the right time on September 11, 2001, and thus did not die in the attacks. Here are ten famous people who avoided death on September 11, 2001.

Larry Silverstein, the wealthy property owner and developer who held the lease on the World Trade Center properties, was due to work that morning of September 11, 2001, in the temporary offices of his company, Silverstein Properties, on the 88th floor of the North Tower. But he had a problem; he had a dermatologist appointment that morning, too. According to Silverstein, his wife “laid down the law” and told him he could not miss the doctors appointment. Therefore, Silverstein was not at the World Trade Center when the planes hit. Two of Silverstein’s children, his son, Roger, and daughter, Lisa, would regularly attend meetings with important clients at Windows on the World. That morning, they too were running late and were not at Windows when the planes hit. All three Silverstein’s survived, leading conspiracy theorists to assume that they had advance knowledge of the attacks and deliberately stayed away from the WTC buildings that day. Silverstein did lose four employees in the attack; two of them had just been hired.

Chef Michael Lomonaco had one of the best jobs in the world, as head chef for Windows on the World at the famous World Trade Center, located on the 106th and 107th floors of the building. On the morning of Sept. 11, 2001, he was heading up to his office at Windows on the World at around 8:15 AM, when he made a decision. He had an appointment to get his glasses repaired at noon at the Lens Crafters located in the lobby of World Trade Center Building 1, but decided to stop to see if he could get his glasses repaired earlier. This delay of about 30 minutes probably saved his life. As he left to start going up to floors 106 and 107, he heard a rumble in the lobby. “It was a feeling like I’ve never felt before,” he remembers. “I couldn’t really hear anything, but this rumble was unusual. Later I would realize it was the impact of the first plane.” “When I got out a few minutes later I could see that where Windows on the World was there was a fire. The extent of it was hard to tell, but I immediately began to take stock of who was up there working.” He was heading toward the fire exits to see if he could help when he saw the second plane hit. “I saw it happen,” he says, incredulously. “It was really incredibly shocking, a moment I’ll never forget. I wasn’t watching TV, I was on the street. I was there.”

Actress Gwyneth Paltrow did not, herself, narrowly survive being killed in the attacks of September 11, 2001. But a chance meeting between Paltrow and a total stranger, Lara Lundstrom Clarke, probably saved Clarke. Both had been exercising that morning, Paltrow taking in an early yoga class, Clarke rollerblading along the Hudson. While Clarke was crossing in the middle of a West Village street in New York, Paltrow was driving in her silver Mercedes SUV. Suddenly, Clarke looked over and realized who was in the SUV. Clarke and Paltrow each stopped and the two of them exchanged greetings. This small delay made Clarke miss her train to the World Trade Center building 2, where she worked on the 77th floor. At the time Clarke recalled being excited to tell her coworkers who she had just seen. She caught the next train and stepped off the platform just in time to see the first plane fly into Tower One. “If I had made that train I would have been at my desk on the 77th floor of 2 World Trade Center,” Clarke said.
Ten years later, Clarke contacted Paltrow to once again connect, and discuss their chance encounter and what it meant to Clarke. Paltrow commented: “It still gives me chills,” she said. “I can’t quite believe how many other people changed the course of strangers’ lives that day.”

Grammy award winning singer Patti Austin was booked on United Flight 93 on September 11, 2001, from Boston to San Francisco. However, she had to change the flight to a day earlier because her mother had a stroke. Therefore, she was moved from performing the second night of the Michael Jackson Tribute Concert in New York City, to the first night. “That’s what saved my life,” Austin recalls.
Had Austin boarded Flight 93 she would have died with all of the other passengers when they stormed the cockpit and tried to take back control of the plane from the hijackers. The plane crashed in a field near Shenksville, Pennsylvania. Austin later said: “I felt that my life had been saved for some specific reason.” “I have yet to figure that out, but I do a lot of charity work now, which I was doing before, but I do a lot more.”

In 2000, Julie Stoffer was a cast member on MTV’s reality television series “The Real World: New Orleans,” the ninth season of The Real World series. She was the first Mormon featured on The Real World. Growing up a strict Mormon, she was not allowed to watch MTV and had to watch The Real World series at a friend’s house. She decided to audition for the show in LA, along with 35,000 others. It just so happened that the shows directors were looking for a “faithful Mormon” to cast, and they selected Stoffer.
On the morning of September 11, 2001, Stoffer was booked on American Airlines Flight 11, from Boston to LA. But due to a fight with her boyfriend, Stoffer missed the flight. Flight 11 crashed into the North Tower of the World Trade Center, killing everyone on board.

Ian Thorpe is an Australian swimmer who won five Olympic gold medals, the most won by any Australian. His three gold and two silver medals were the most won by an athlete at the 2000 Summer Olympics. Thorpe has won eleven World Championship gold medals, the second-highest number of any swimmer.
Thorpe is also a fashion fanatic and, as such, loves New York City and considers it to be a second home. On September 11, 2001, Thorpe was out for a jog and intended to go to the observation deck at the World Trade Centre, when he realized he had forgotten his camera. He hailed a cab and asked the cabbie to take him to his hotel, so he could get it. He returned to his hotel room and happened to turn on the TV where he saw the North Tower of the World Trade Center on fire.

Jim Pierce was the managing director of New York City-based AON Corporations, in September 2001. He also happened to be the cousin of President George W Bush. On September 11, 2001, Pierce was scheduled to attend a business conference on the 105th floor of the South Tower. However, due to the size of the crowd wishing to attend the conference, the location was switched to the Millennium Hotel (across the street from the World Trade Center) and a bigger room.
In her book, “Reflections: Life After the White House,” Barbara Bush recalled what happened: “I also learned later that my nephew Jim Pierce narrowly escaped injury or possible death. He was scheduled to attend a meeting on the 102nd floor of the South Tower, which was the second building hit. However, the night before, the meeting was moved to an adjacent building because the group had outgrown the conference room. Jim later learned that twelve people were in the room where he was supposed to be; eleven died.”

Actor and former rapper Mark Wahlberg was born and raised near Boston, Massachusetts. He went on to star in such films as “The Perfect Storm” and “Boogie Nights.” On September 11, 2001, he and some friends were scheduled to fly on American Airlines Flight 11, from Boston to Los Angeles. At the last minute they changed their plans and decided to charter a plane to Toronto, Canada, for a film festival. From Toronto, they flew on to Los Angeles. This near brush with death still haunts his dreams. Wahlberg recalled what might have been had he and his buddies been on that flight: “We certainly would have tried to do something to fight. I’ve had probably over 50 dreams about it.”

The Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson was in New York City on September 11, 2001. She was in NBC studios being interviewed by Matt Lauer when the first plane hit. Lauer later recalled he was told by his director that a plane had just hit the WTC, and they would be cutting away from the interview with Ferguson. Ferguson’s charity, “Chances for Children,” was located on the 101st floor of 1 World Trade Center. She was scheduled to be in the building with the charity but she was running late. None of the charity’s employees were trapped in the building, but nearly 700 employees of Cantor Fitzgerald, the financial firm providing free office space to the duchess’ charity, were killed in the aftermath of the attack.

Seth MacFarlane has made millions laugh as an animator, writer, producer, director and voice of cartoons such as “Family Guy,” “American Dad!” and “The Cleveland Show.” However, if it had not been for a mix up in his travel itinerary on September 11, 2001, MacFarlane would never have had the chance to create “American Dad!” or “The Cleveland Show.”
On September 11, 2001, he was scheduled to return to Los Angeles on American Airlines Flight 11, after being a keynote speaker at his alma mater, the Rhode Island School of Design, in Rhode Island. Fortunately for MacFarlane, his travel agent told him his flight would leave Logan Airport at 8:15am, when it was actually scheduled to depart at 7:45am. MacFarlane arrived at Boston Logan Airport a few minutes after boarding was stopped on his flight and he was told he would have to wait for the next flight. An hour later, Flight 11 was flown into the North Tower of the World Trade Center, killing everyone on the plane. MacFarlane quickly contacted his parents after the plane hit the WTC to tell them he was not on it and was alive.
In an interview, MacFarlane recalled what happened with his usual sense of humor: “I was booked on that flight and I was drinking the night before and hung over and I missed the plane by about 10 minutes. It was a very close call for me.” He also jokingly stated, “alcohol is our friend. I think that’s the moral of that story.” He also said that he thanked God that his travel agent had screwed up the departure time or he would have been on board and he wouldn’t have known what to do when the terrorists took over the plane.
On the February 10, 2011, MacFarlane announced he is directing his first feature-length film, “Ted.” The film stars Mark Wahlberg who also survived by missing Flight 11 on that fateful day.

i laughed at your mums cousin dying
“I do not believe in God. I’m an atheist. I consider myself a critical thinker, and it fascinates me that in the 21st century most people still believe in, as George Carlin puts it, ‘the invisible man living in the sky’ ”
-Seth Macfarlene
Sure he thanked god in a saying sense not the God god
if he was a thinker of any kind, he wouldn’t make such *****ty cartoons.
you my friend can rot in the gobi desert with your eyes being picekd out by vultures with you still alive
Patti Austin was booked on United Flight 93 on September 11, 2001, from Boston to San Francisco. However, she had to change the flight to a day earlier because her mother had a stroke. Therefore, she was moved from performing the second night of the Michael Jackson Tribute Concert in New York City, to the first night
i thought the michael jackson tribute was in 2011. did he die in 2001 too?
When a performer has a career as long and prolific as Jackson’s, tributes often take place throughout their careers, not just after their death. The tribute concert referenced in the list is most likely the 30th Anniversary Celebration for Jackson, which did, indeed, take place in 2001:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0301614/
Hope that helps.
won’t lie. that’s strange. good list.
f * c k you “*****” people
Also, Larry Silverstein took out insurance policies on the towers weeks before 911 because he had advanced knowledge of their demise.
It seems to me, he would have had insurance policies on property such as that before this. More likely he changed policies or something. I can’t imagine buildings like these not being insured. This is hardly “evidence” of anything.
And apparently I made this comment around 12 years before the article was posted …
The policy referred to was specific to a “terrorist attack”, and VERY expensive.
That is just another conspiracy myth.
The towers had already been the target of terrorist attacks (1993), so the idea of the property being a potential target wasn’t a sudden epiphany.
Too right FKA Dangsthurt. All these ‘well known’ people had advance knowledge of what was going to happen. Didn’t know about Silverstein’s insurance policies though, that’s very interesting. Probably scooped the pool on that.
On what, besides you’re own incredible ignorance and stupidity, do you base that on, Missy? Nothing, that’s what. Retard.
Just as well my mum’s cousin wasn’t killed. He worked in one of the towers and that morning before work, slipped and broke his arm. Just as well that he escaped being blown up too. Mum only found him about 10 yrs ago, as he was dumped in an orphanage during WWII and then adopted by an American couple. Maybe instead of the Famous People Avoiding Death on Listverse, it should be lucky escapes of not so famous people. My own ignorance and stupidity, indeed Bob. Maybe you should go home and love your own family and think about the impact 9/11 had on them.
Took out or renewed? Are you saying that prior to 9/11 the buildings weren’t insured?
agreed – pretty sure they were insured already. lol.
Why can’t Listverse’s censorship policy replace the word “*****” with a series of five asterisks?
i thought this list might forget seth macfarlane.
Damn.. being so close to death should change their lives greatly
Lol at the first guy who said f anyone who is first
I loved the titanic list, so glad they made this one. Good to see an aussie on the list
. I remember the moment 9/11 broke on the news, i was getting ready for primary school, i was still pretty young but old enough to know that what i was seeing was a horrific event. Its so much worse to look back as an adult.
Great list though, because everyone mentioned got to stick around
.
getting ready for primary school at night? hmmm
because if you remember “the moment the news broke” and you’re australian, it was night for us.
Danggggg your right……. come on it was a long time ago and i was young! Everything you saw on the news when you were a kid you thought was happening right then (or at least i did (i was a naive child
plus i didnt know about time-zones)). But your dead on it would have been like 1 in the morning over here….. :S I tip my hat to you sir
magpie wins by good sportsmanship
I remember coming out of primary school and being picked up by my mum when her friend came over and asked her if she’d heard what happened. I didn’t really understand but I remember all of the adults being shocked. It was a beautiful day here as well. Such a terrible tragedy, whether you believe in the conspiracy theories or not. (BTW I’m from the UK so it was the afternoon here.)
It broke in Australia around 10 or 11pm. I was planning a trip to NY and was actually reading a travel book about the twin towers when a news flash came on. Freaky. As a firefighter I guessed that about 350 firies would have died when the tower came down. I was only a few off. Terrible.
It’s kinda sad that you felt compelled to point that out.
I remember reading Jackie Chan was planning to film on one of the towers that day.
What about Jackie chan? He was schedule to begin his new movie on top of the world trade center the morning of 9/11 but due to script problems the scenes were delayed. He was gonna play a window washer.
“Actress Gwyneth Paltrow did not herself narrowly survive being killed in the attacks of September 11, 2001.”…So that knocks the list down to 9 famous people…And if you’re not living in the USA it knocks the list down to 4!
What’s your point regarding non-americans? It’s a big world out there and a small one when your head is up your arse.
Wtf are you waffling on about?
Well, it did kind of happened in the USA, what did you expect? Damn list about 9/11 being too American!
Isn’t this site viewed all over the world? How many non-Americans will know all 10 people on the list?
I’m American and didn’t know all ten.
I’m Irish and I know all ten, could just be drunk thou….I’ll get back to you…
Flight 11 should have had an unusual amount of celebrities on it.
Actually, flight 11 did have a number of celebs.
Like who?
Yo momma.
There were twp semi-celebrities on Flight 11. Berry Berensen, sister of Marissa Berensen and David Angell creator and executive producer of “Frasier.”
I haven’t heard of Berry Berensen, Marissa Berensen or David Angell, but i have heard of ‘Frasier’ but as you say semi celebs i will allow it
Also, Anthony Perkin’s (Psycho) wife was on the flight.
Yeah, who?? Maybe that DocOc guy was right about being troll who only puts comments in to stir people up.
Ive never commented before but im a long time listverse lover! So i HAVE to agree. She constantly comments with nothing useful and she’s such a know it all! What makes you so much better than everyone else?? All of her comments are so condescending or filled with facts and knowledge that she can’t back upwhen questioned.
Ok kids. Cuz this cr*ap out or im calling your momms.
Where’s my broom?
Ha! I told you f*ckers!
Golf Wang
Earl Sweatshirt was in the north tower but walked out after it collapsed, to get a bologna sandwich.
Interesting list.
Just goes to show how seemingly small decisions/events can end up having huge consequences.
When MacFarlane thanked God in that interview he was being tongue-in-cheek. He’s an ardent atheist!
Indeed. He also doesn’t attribute much to missing the flight, nor has it changed his outlook on life. He did an interview recently on National Public Radio(Fresh Air if anyone wants to look it up) where he talks about attaching significance to things where it shouldn’t be attached. He talks about how he misses planes all the time and that morning was no different.
I think it’s kind of morbid to discuss how fate/God/flying spaghetti monster picked out these people when so many others died. Maybe I’m still too close to it.
god or not, he was lucky, and it certainly should have changed his outlook on life.
Thats up to him isn’t it?
Very true, Alex. It’s a huge slap in the face when someone says, “Oh, God must have wanted me to stay alive for some reason!” So, he wanted other people to have loved ones that died and you’re jut special?
Considering Seth’s an Atheist, I don’t think he attributes God to his luck in avoiding the plane.
I still strongly remember 9/11. I was on a day off from my skydiving job, and walking into the shop to buy smokes. I heard on the radio that a plane had crashed into Tower 1, and I rushed to the drop zone to see the News (I had no TV). And as I was there watching, BAM came the second plane. Devastation of the mind.
A couple of days later, the whole DZ held a minute of silence for the victims. This was in France, so you can imagine the ethnic variety, but not a single soul peeped a word or uttered a sound during this minute.
Christians, Jews, Muslims, Atheists, all united in grief…
Absolutely fantastic list. That event, really a series of events, still haunts me.
The next list should be who profited the most out of 9 11 .
top 5 would probably look something like this
5-Blackwater
4- Larry Silverstein
3-Donald Rumsfeld ( on Sept 10 2001 he announce 2.3 Trillion dollars went missing )
2-Haliburton
1-Military industrial Complex
You are an idiot.
I still strongly remember 9/11. I was on a day off from my rodeo job, and walking into the shop to buy smokes. I heard on the radio that a plane had crashed into Tower 1, and I rushed to the drop zone to see the News (I had no TV). And as I was there watching, BAM came the second plane. Devastation of the mind.
A couple of days later, the whole DZ held a minute of silence for the victims. I whistled for a cab and when it came near the license plate said “FRESH” and there was a dice in the mirror. If anything I could say that this cab was rare but I thought “nah, forget it, yo holmes to Bel Air”.
I actually laughed out loud when I read that, and that never happens!
911 was a inside job
911 is a joke in your town.
Ha!….Serious tho, Great List! No one will forget where they were that morning when they heard….was running late for work. By the tme I got there Tower 1 had already been hit and everyone was in tears….SAD
Certainly there were famous or notorious people who did die on 9/11. No?
Also, I doubt MacFarlane “thanked God”, since he’s an atheist… unless he used it as an expression, or that you put the common expression in his mouth to convey what he meant.
The Wahlberg entry got me the most. He’s a great actor. He wasn’t very famous back then, but we would have missed some good acting. And for sure, he would have kicked some terrorist ass. According to his biography on wikipedia, he was some mean street thug before going into acting.
Following the list about the Titanic, I expected one about 9/11. And, like the Titanic, this one also was an eye-opener; a good and informative list.
I didn’t think I would be reading a 911 list in this month.
Just like the Titanic one, this is a good list. The “What Ifs”….kinda scary to think about how close they were.
Interesting list, yet tragic topic.
I’ve only heard of 3 people on this list, the top 3 actually, but it was an interesting read regardless. Though the entry on Paltrow annoyed me. She wasn’t near the tower, wasn’t in danger so she never avoided death.
She “never avoided death”? She’s still alive, ain’t she?
Touche
That’s only a touché if you consider literally everything that’s not dying avoiding death.
Technically, it is. Justin Bieber avoided dying on 9/11. Hitler avoided dying on 9/11.
I do, thats why i wrote it.
This might be an urban legend, but I was told a story that a woman was frantically trying to get in contact with her husband who worked in one of the towers on 9/11 but just kept getting his voice mail. She naturally feared the worst until she got through to him. She asked him where he was and he said he was at work. Turned out he was having an affair, called in sick to work and turned his phone off so as not to be disturbed. Anyone else know hear this story?
I’ve bever heard that but I bet that guy WISHED he had been at the WTC when his wife was through with him. That’s an awesome story!
* never
Yep, I’ve read that story somewhere too. He lied to his wife and told her he was sitting at his desk, but she had just seen the building collapse on the news.
Seth MacFarlane is a Christian. Just because one of his characters is an atheist doesn’t mean that he is too. If he wasn’t a Christian, why would God spare his life on 9/11?
Probably because god most likely doesn’t exist.
God doesn’t believe in atheists. :;))
No he doesn’t, because he probably doesn’t exist. So he can’t believe in anything.
God doesn’t believe in Christians.
You can’t prove that. Atheists can’t prove that God doesn’t exist, except maybe if their God is Richard Darwins.
You can’t prove the Invisible Pink Unicorn doesn’t exist.
Yes I can.
No you can’t.
Yes I can. I’ve never seen an invisible pink unicorn. I’ve seen the face of God and he has saved me with his amazing grace. No invisible pink unicorn has ever saved me with its amazing grace. So that proves to me that God exists and invisible pink unicorns do not.
I’ve never seen a god. I’ve seen the face of the Invisible Pink Unicorn and he has saved me with his amazing hooves. No god has ever saved me with its amazing hooves. So that proves to me that the Invisible Pink Unicorn exists and god does not.
You can’t prove that that’s true. Do you really believe in an invisible pink unicorn? Unicorns have been extinct for thousands of years.
You can’t prove that it’s untrue.
Yes I can actually.
Odin doesn’t believe in Christians
Yes he does.
Don’t feed the troll, people.
I’m sure there were plenty of Christians that died that day too
Oh yeah? Name one.
Your a complete idiot and do absolutely no justice to your faith.
*You’re,* you complete idiot.
Hahahaha…Oh My..well you know….lol
See? No Christians died that day and you can’t name any! Praise God!
http://articles.chicagotribune.com/2001-09-14/new…

lol
wow…Im a Christian….and you sound stupid
every religious argument I see I try and end it with a debate on cupcakes… so let’s discuss cupcakes!
^ I’m liking what chuck’s got going on
Personally I love orange and poppyseed cupcakes yummmm
It’s too bad we can’t retroactively trade Seth MacFarlane with one (or more) of the other victims. It wouldn’t be a big loss.
your a douche
*you’re
Seth MacFarlane is an even bigger douche.
Seth doesn’t wish death on people he doesn’t know, so no he isn’t. That’s enough internet for you troll
I wish life for people I don’t know. I even wish to trade that for the life of someone I do know. Seth MacFarlane that is.
Oh you’ve met him? Was it at one of the roasts you were invited too. Or did he come to your McDonalds just to make small talk with you. How do you know him. BTW I know you because I’ve read one of your comments. Enough to understand a man.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CWx3o6DbtHY
What a retarded video.
Spoken like a true American!
Wow, how remarkably lucky! Cool list today!!
Awesome list!!! Was busy making my dad breakfast in bed for his bday when the towers got hit…. whole family sat round the tv to watch the news for the rest of the day…
great lists ,,, can i suggests that u make a lists of those survivors from the attack .. about their experience and what did they do to survive .. keep it up Godbless
You can suggest it but I’m not going to do it. I’m not your f*cking list slave.
ian thorpe fabricated that story
It kind of sucks that Gwenyth Paltrow wasn’t on the plane.
It sucks even more that the death toll of 9/11 isn’t enough for you
Seth would have cried like a baby – that’s what he would have done…
I avoided death on 9/11 by not *****ing off the whole world by trying to turn them into christian, money hungry, intolerant and disrespectful of other cultures and religions.
It`s off subject, but why is 9/11 called 9/11? And anyway, shouldn`t it be 11/9? It happened on the eleventh of the ninth, not the ninth of the eleventh. It would make semse, if you did it with Guy Fawkes, as in 5/11, because that happened on the fifth of the eleventh. And anyone who believes the 9/11 conspiracy theories, well, there idiots.
In the US it goes month/date.
It’s one of those “only in America, they only care about themselves” things that people like to complain about. “MM/DD/YYYY” is the common format used over here. When people mention a date in conversation, they’ll usually say “September 11th”, not “the 11th of September”, hence “9/11”. The different conventions can be a little inconvenient for practical use. I have to correspond internationally somewhat regularly in my job, so I make a habit of spelling it out (“Sep 11” or “11-Sep-2001”) when referring to a date just to avoid any confusion or misunderstanding.
Good ol’ Wiki has an interesting color-coded geographical chart identifying the various formats by country. DD/MM/YYYY is by far the most widely used:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Date_format_by_count…
Mark Wahlberg actor and former rapper… Why do you have to bring this painful memory back? LOL !
C-c’mon feel the vibration!
Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch!
Its Shanksville, PA…not Shenksville. United 93 crashed in Shanksville.
whatevs. I mean, who likes shanks anyways?
Silverstein and his two children are not “Silverstein’,” but are “Silversteins”
No need for the apostrophe.
Grammar Nazi for the win!
A nazi and a jew in the same sentence…I don’t like the implications.
If we’re going to be pedantic, they’re not actually in the same sentence…
Well you exist for a reason…
This site would be ao much more pleasant if Jamie edited out responses from idiots and “firsts”.
All wasn’t Jackie Chan supposed to be filing on the side of the building that morning?
Yes he had a lot of documents that desperately needed to be proper categorized and stored. Also his nails were a little long.
^^ Hahaha!
chilling list
I’m sure I’ve read this list before
***** off, Michael Jackson was suposed to be there and he’s more famous than all of them! Idiot, never let this man write a list again!
What if Mark Wahlberg used his “tough guy” reputation to take down the terrorist. This is what he’s been training for in all his movies, he could’ve prevented part of september 11th from happening.
That’s weird. The current family guy episode has a fmash scene with a guy happy he was late for work during 9/11 talk about coincidences.
How about a list of famous people who died that day?
And I second the notion of censoring the word “First”.
@Armin Tamzarian
Like I said, enough internet for you
I was 19 when 911 happen in 2001 and i was watching the live feed on TV when the second plane hit .It was very surreal i couldn’t believe what i was seeing .
I still have question about that incident ,like what happen to the people they arrested in New York in a Van full of explosives ? I’m not a engineer ,but i don’t think a fire took down WTC 7 in 6 seconds . In 1975 the WTC north Tower caught Fire and burned for hours and 6 floors caught on fire . Beside the 3 buildings in New york did a steel skyscraper ever collapse because of fire ? What about the Oklahoma city bombing why didn’t that building collapse? And why is there molten steel on the site in New york and Day’s 3 to 4 days after there was still smoke and recorded high temperature .
Just Remember the 911 commission is brought to you by the same people that brought you the Iran Contra affair .
http://www.journalof911studies.com/articles/WTCHi…
I still have question about that incident
Stop JAQing off. All you do is ask a bunch of questions with this faux sincerity, but you never try to find the answers. I shot down a bunch of your idiotic questions months ago, don’t you ever learn? Apparently not, because here you are yet again, grasping at threads of misinformation and half-stories to launch another flurry of “questions”, with the sole purpose of perpetuating myths, confusion and doubt. Every question you conspiracy theorist nutjobs have has already been answered or debunked, many of them ages ago, yet people like you continue to regurgitate them over and over again.
Such as:
like what happen to the people they arrested in New York in a Van full of explosives
There was no “van full of explosives”.

@ maggot, What do you have a problem with people asking question ?That’s what’s awesome about a free society i can ask good and bad questions . Well the U.S news is a joke you can sell whatever you want with the right Salesman .
Remember when the the Catholic church would kill people in the name of Jesus for asking to many question .Didn’t the Nazi put people in prison for asking too many questions.
Do you believe the Corruption is a conspiracy ?
What about molten steel and really high temperature ? , i would like to hear you’re opinion on that .
What do you call a Washington Lobbyist ?( legalize Bribery to serve corporate interest )
Well what are you suggesting caused the high temperatures? I am sure there is nothing unusual for a building of that size to be hot for a while after collapsing and being on fire
@DanF
I don’t know what cause the high Temperatures , but what i do know is the 911 commission never address this or main stream media .So according to the commission wtc 7 a 47 steel skyscraper collapse in a few hours because of fire .
On Sep 16 someone took termal aerial photographs of the site and recorded temperatures over 1300 F, 5 day’s after the event, how do you explain that ?And 23 day’s after the event there was still smoldering rubble . What about all the people that help clean the site some of them say they saw molten steel day’s after the 11th how do you explain that? .

@Planet Earth: What do you have a problem with people asking question?
I don’t have a problem with people asking questions, I have a problem with people playing dumb while they’re asking them. Such as your attempt to draw a structural/damage/collapse-forensics correlation between the nine story OKC Murrah Bldg with the forty-something story WTC7, for example. Or the afore-mentioned “van of explosives” non-question that you now apparently can’t distance yourself from fast enough. That’s the same thing you pulled last time I blew your “innocent” questions out of the water.
What about molten steel and really high temperature ? , i would like to hear you’re opinion on that.
Why do you want to hear my opinion? I’m not a metallurgist, or a physicist, or an engineer. Look this sh.it up yourself. Answers are out there if you TRULY want to find them. I could load you up with a bunch of links to peer-reviewed papers and journals and whatnot that credibly an.alyzes and discusses these topics to provide plausible and most likely if not definitive explanations. I say “credibly”, because for example Steven E. Jones (one of the names on that “Journal of 911 Studies” paper you linked and one-time co-editor of that website) has been discredited:
http://www.debunking911.com/jones.htm#Iron%20Sphe…
Granted, this site references some old info, as it states that Jones is a professor at BYU. But he retired from there after BYU put him on paid leave while reviewing among other things, whether or not peer review was rigorous enough to support his published “911 truth movement” papers. BYU’s Physics Dept and structural engineering faculty were outspokenly non-supportive of his theories.
Anyway, I doubt you would ever be satisfied, and you’ll be back on the next 911-themed list asking the same “questions”. Which is totally chicken-sh.it on your part because they are open-ended wild goose chase types of questions. i.e “what about this”, and “what about that”. Well, what about them? If you have a specific claim to make then make it. It’s these nebulously inferred “suggestions” of nefariousness that are the hallmarks of conspiracy theorist nutjobbery.
@Planet Earth: Wtc 7 was falling at free fall speed , so to accomplish this it has to have zero resistance , that means all the Core Columns had to fail all the same time .
First of all, what makes you think that “free fall” always equals “controlled demolition”? This is a presumptuous notion that conspiracy theorists just pass off as a given. Secondly, read the Structures Magazine piece about “Single Point of Failure”, which demonstrates strong evidence that ONE column failed initially, which began a progression sequence towards total collapse. A collapse which took almost 20 seconds starting with the east penthouse by the way, not the 6.5 seconds that you mentioned, which came from Jones’s flawed video “an.alysis”. Further video an.alysis showing the roof penthouses sinking first and then external windows on the south wall breaking way before we see the outer walls start to come down backs up the idea that the building was collapsing from the inside much sooner than was apparent from the outside view as framed by this supposed 6.5 second timeline.
Then you use the common tactic of saying WTC7 had “office fires”, as a subtle attempt to downplay of the seriousness of the inferno raging within, which burned unabated for 7 hours while responders focused their efforts elsewhere (like searching for possible survivors among the towers’ debris pile). There are many photos of WTC7 nearly engulfed with smoke pouring out of it…not just out of a few windows. This was no “office fire”.
Fact : it is illegal to cart away evidence from a CRIME Scene .
Whatever. Focusing on this is akin to Monday morning quarterbacking. Lots of “evidence” was saved for NIST (and other) an.alysis, which you conveniently disregard, but nevertheless, it was a huge debris field, it was an unprecedented event, and for all intents and purposes it was fu.cking OBVIOUS what had happened, so in the immediate aftermath of days and weeks (i.e. before all these whackjob conspiracy theories started to manifest and snowball), maybe it just seemed like the thing to do… dust ourselves off, clear out, return to some appearance of order, and try to “move ahead” as a nation. That type of thing. I dunno…I’m just saying, the fact that debris was carted away supposedly “quickly”, to whatever degree that it actually was, doesn’t automatically mean that it was done with an intent of maliciously covering-up something. Because why should there even be anything to cover up about WTC7 anyway? As if whatever conspiracy you think was in place for a planned demolition of WTC7 (and for what reason?) just happened to be facilitated by the convenient coincidence of a major terrorist attack befalling the other two towers? Or was that part of the conspiracy too? If so, then why needlessly just throw in WTC7 on top of that? Can’t you see how NO conspiracy theory or combination of theories makes any logistical sense whatsoever?
@Maggot
you’re right . I won’t be satisfied with the official story of WTC7 &Pentagon .In the link you posted it states that certain argument are still up for debate . Not to mention they don’t take witness report in consideration it’s a HE said SHE said argument The question about the Van it was that i don’t know what the real story is , was it real or Fake .Back in 2001 it was much easier to control information in the press (No video cell phones or youtube ).
I like to read about History and individual in history .We both know certain “conspiracy theory ” of the pass have been proven truth ( Best example General Smedley Butler & gulf of Tonkin incident )Some people really like to watch violence on the internet not me i like to look into certain conspiracies i also like to ask people opinions .My favorite conspiracies are
1-Government Corruption 2- Military industrial complex hiding or suppressing Alien or Human technology 3-Mosantos is trying to buy and own the SEED’s of the world .
Wtc 7 collapse in 6 sec after a few hours of fire that was not intense , but a skyscraper in Madrid Spain burn over night and the core of the building didn’t collapse .
http://whatreallyhappened.com/WRHARTICLES/wtc1_core.html
@maggot
Just one more thing . I know you sound like you believe the CBS back story .
Wtc 7 was falling at free fall speed , so to accomplish this it has to have zero resistance , that means all the Core Columns had to fail all the same time . So do say this happen because of a office fire ? ( bulls, hit )
I’m not a engineer or physicist but in this documentary there are some many Engineer & physicist it would take to long to list them all. Release in 2011 ten years after .
Fact : it is illegal to cart away evidence from a CRIME Scene . They were 400 truck load a day clearing evidence and they ship all the steal to China .
That in it self is a HUGE CRIME , Don’t take my word for it look at these CREDIBLE people talking about it . Release in 2011
I was 7 years old when the events at 9/11 happened, and I lived in New York City. I remember being pulled out of school by my parents and seeing the ash from the towers fall onto the sidewalk like rain. Then, when I got home, my family and I watched the news in silence. I was too young to fully comprehend what was happening, but I was old enough to vividly remember it.
It was a surreal moment.
Hey, I avoided death on 9/11 too! Although I’m not famous. . . was thousands of miles away. . . but I survived!
Charlie Sheen didn’t die on 9/11. Neither did Nancy Kerrigan. Nor did Oprah Winfrey. And they’re all famous people. Jeez, so many people left off this list.
Slight correction to Wahlberg entry: he was raised IN Boston not NEAR Boston.
Great job. As promised and expected. “There but for the Grace…..”
Thank you Patrick.
If there’s one moment in my life I never want to hear ever again, it’s 9/11. The actions of 21 extremists and thousands of innocent lives have been exploited time and time again for financial and political gain. I had a friend that worked in Windows on the World who died that day, and if her spirit could speak, it would tell us to move the hell on. I went to Iraq because of that event, and I still feel like the nation put it’s hands over it’s eyes and let the blind lead us for eight years after that. Please just let this one fade.
And to the moronic “truthers” reading this, the towers are still there. A CIA invisibility cloak made from energy waves from HAARP are cloaking the buildings because JFK, Elvis and Tupac are in there, along with space aliens, Masons from the Bilderberg group and the Trilateral commision. A cure for AIDS and cancer are at the top floor, along with a cure for baldness.
I should have guessed. What else would it be?
Would double thumbs up for you if I could. lolz on the last bit too.
ps: Your service, even if ill-advised, is appreciated.
Your comment and humor is much appreciated Pauly. Well said. Thank you.
Awesome ending!!! Better yet, let’s just say the towers never existed like area 51. And a huge Thank You for serving in this blindsided war. You are appreciated
If they’re famous in America that means they’re famous all over the planet. Look around your room, look around your town, turn on the TV. Remember, like everyone in the entertainment industry throughout the world say, you’re not famous unless you’re famous in America.
Had Seth MacFarlane been on one of those planes, in my opinion, there would be a serious void in Television Entertainment. I Thank God that he is alive and well. How can one not resist watching “Family Guy” or even “American Dad” for that matter.
“How can one *not resist* watching “Family Guy” or even “American Dad””
I agree entirely.
cool list. I had no idea wahlberg was almost on the flight. Good research and good list!
Ok guys, we get it. People died, it was horrible. But seriously.. do we need to be reminded of it every damn day? Not willing to scare you, but there is a world outside of the US, a world where stuff can happen to.
Yeayea, boohoo I’m a terrorist and deserve to die, flame me all you want. But hey, at least I know europe isn’t a country.
